*If you experience trouble with the app, please feel free to shoot an email (support info available in app).
NOTE: Playback of Dolby Digital surround sound content requires an Apple TV connected to a Dolby Digital compatible home theater system with front and rear speakers.
UPDATE 02/16: While 'Home Theater Speaker Check' continues to work great on previous Apple TV models, the new Apple TV 4 appears to require iOS 9 for Airplay of Dolby surround tracks.
What's New in Version 1.2
- Added two new test tracks, "Subwoofer Check Track", and "Center Speaker Check".
- New 5.1 song demo trailer
- Updated for iOS 9 and the new Apple TV
- Improved audio quality
Doesn't seem to work quite right if Apple TV is not set for your app
Connected to Apple TV from iPhone 6s and have optical audio feeding my Yamaha surround receiver from the Apple TV. When I see all channels playing I get main and surround audio. When only one rear channel is indicated the sound is only output from the front speaker. When both rears are indicated, both fronts play with a bit from the rears. But...just found the solution. The app playback does not trigger the Apple TV to Dolby surround when it is set to auto mode. If I go to settings on the Apple TV and select Dolby for audio instead of auto it does work. Otherwise the stereo only provides Dolby ProLogic playback (which does not support discrete rear channels...)
