Useful but not perfect
I've been using this app for a while and it is helpful - the best I've found of this type. I'm a SAHM and have trouble keeping up with housework - I tend to mosey around doing a little of this, little of that, and not accomplishing much in the end. Home Routines gives me set tasks to do every morning, afternoon, evening, week, etc. It's easy to customize the task lists and zones too, which is nice.
There are a few small things that I wish were different, but here's the big one - weekly and monthly tasks have to be set to "reset" on a certain day. For example, my weekly tasks are set to reset on Mondays (you can choose the day). But that means that if I do a weekly task on Sunday, it's going to come back on my weekly task list the next day. It would be more helpful to have a weekly task reset to a week out once you complete it. It would also be nice to be able to click on a task and find out the date of the last time you completed it. Or even have reminders (optional) telling you what tasks are most overdue.
App good, workable lists/viewing could be better
I have had the app for awhile and like it, but I would really like to see these ideas incorporated to make it more of my everyday/life-go-to app:
1- Make start times/dates and reset options more flexible. I have added more chores to it (weekly, daily, monthly, and annual/seasonal), like the other reviewers, the start and reset times/ dates are a little restricted.
2- Email lists. I would like to get my chore chart/list emailed to me the night before the next day starts, and have a manual option to email or print a chore chart or list of chores for a specific date or range of dates (eg. Week at a glance).
3- Increase viewing options. I would like to be able to see the next day today if I want or even the next few days to help plan my days activities.
4- Wish list items now:
a) Be able to assign chores to each of my children (it would be cool to be able to get an alert or see anytime what they have done for the day)
b) be able to integrate chore lists into either my Google calendar or tasks.
c). Be able to print chores off in a weekly box-calendar format to see the big pic in my planner or to pin up on my wall.
Thanks for listening!
A busy, ADHD-prone Mom of boys
I just downloaded this, and it seems like it will be a good app. A couple of suggestions, though. I can't seem to pull up the lists for any other day of the week except the current one, so if there is a way to do this, it would be great. I would like to schedule tasks throughout the week, not just throughout the month. Also, I would like the ability to drag a task from my "later" list and drop it into my daily list somewhere. Of course, there might be a way to do all this and I just haven't figured it out :0)
