As a podcast app, Hourly News lets to you listen to any/all of the most recent NPR , BBC, CBC, ABC, CBS, WSJ, ESPN, VOA, SRN, BMM, RTHK, DW, Marketplace and/or FOX news updates and more.
You can also add your own custom podcasts sources to Hourly News!

Like every app, download speeds are greatly affected by your connection (edge, 3G, 4G, LTE or WiFi). Edge downloads might take a little longer, 3G and 4G are faster, LTE is even faster still and WiFi is blazing fast to download the news updates in Hourly News.

Great app that can be hampered by connection issues
This app is pretty sound. I use it exclusively in my car which has created some unpleasantries that are not a fault of the app. I like how the app flows from one new source to another. Connection issues are usually a result of poor cell reception, but I have had network issues as well. Note: If you are inclined to listen to the app as you drive to work from home, for example, I found that waiting until I am out of range of my home wifi helps. There seems to be a hang-up when I start on my wifi and then transition to cell coverage. I like the additional streams and the ability to listen to custom podcasts.
I had to delete it from my phone
This app does a very nice job of playing the news and doing what it says it will do. I actually very much like this app and really enjoy the ability to listen to news on demand. However, this app so aggressively hijacks my Bluetooth connection to my car radio that it destroys any hope of productivity. Anytime that I try to use Siri or end a phone call or just simply start my car, this app turns itself on and begins playing through my car speakers. I can even close the app and remove it from the background application and restart my phone and the app will launch itself from cold and begin playing. It is one of the most frustrating connectivity issues that I have experience on the iPhone.
Great
This is wonderful, great snapshot of news. Now wish there were more in-app news sources, perhaps to go deeper or even by category (business news, tech news, etc). I know there's option of paying more and adding personalized news sources and haven't explored that yet. Also, app allows you to specify/choose news sources first time you launch app, but I now can't find those options again under the limited Settings and "i" screens. Would be nice to peruse choices again and add or modify if possible.
