Other minor fixes
Not a bad app if I could make it thru an article without crashing... Come on people, it's 2015 and you're supposed to be a top market news org. Catch-up with the times and fix your app!!
Been having this issue for weeks and don't experience it with other apps; NYT, WSJ, USATODAY... I had experienced constant crashing when the app was new, years ago. It improved some, over time. Now it's worse than ever. I may have to cancel my delivery altogether. I don't read the hard copy delivered to my home.
Awful and you don't make improvements
App should always open in the most current edition. You waste our time going to pick the current edition.
Leaving pictures on for months is insulting. Makes it look like you don't ever look at your own product. You wouldn't do that in a print edition.
You should use the same screen gestures as the Wall Street Journal. Theirs are easy, fast and intuitive.
I've been a Houston Chronicle subscriber my whole life, and while I like the paper, I hate their technology, both this app as well as their website. Rarely can I get through the paper w/o the app failing to load, or crashing. And the sales banners across the bottom are terrible; impossible to finish an article. Come on, Chronicle; act like you're the mouthpiece of the nation's 3rd largest city, and not like you have the market cornered.
