Among My Favorite Apps!
If you like decorating and home design you can't get any better than this. I've spent hours pouring over photos from Houzz getting design ideas for my current house and putting together a dream list for every room in my future building project. I love the ability to save photos in various idea books giving you one for kitchen ideas one for bathroom ideas one for landscape etc. The only problem is that there are so many amazing ideas and pictures it'll be hard to narrow down which way I'll want to go come building time. Newsletters are also awesome as if you make an account and allow them to they'll send you an email with their top articles summarized giving you a quick glance at what's new and while I skip over most of the articles there's bound to be one or two that peak my interest each week. Articles range from house building tips to landscape ideas to organizing strategies and all of them have gorgeous pictures that make you want to grab a hammer and some material and get to work.
Seriously, it's a great app and I've recommended it to so many people since I started using it and they're all addicted to it now also.
Exactly what they say it is
I'm giving this a 5 stars not because its the most amazing and must have app out there, but because it is exactly and does everything that it says it does and efficiently. I ran across the app randomly when I was having a very frustrating problem with my front porch. I didn't even know design apps existed so after reading its description and reviews I got it. I was very pleased with how it takes you right into the design ideas , and after reading some of the other questions and the very professional advice they got I tried it. Just 3 pics and a description of my problem and I had 4 design ideas from professions and experienced people within that day. So I am very happy with this app and highly recommend it to anyone who might just have an itch to change something or a major problem, they will help you as much as they are able.
A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words
Visualize your dream home. Most people have trouble communicating their design ideas to others. We can see it in our heads but can't quite find the right words to give our contractor, spouse, or friend the same picture in their heads. Houzz allows you to "scrapbook" home photographs so you can remember and communicate to others easily. You can even set up separate scrapbooks (categories) for different homes, rooms, exteriors, etc. and comment on them so you'll remember and communicate exactly what you like about the picture. I wish this app had been available when I built my current house. It could have saved me so much time and $ purchasing magazines, tearing out photos, writing on each photo and then filing in a conventional file folder.
