How Many Saturdays?

Description

Standard units of time like seconds, hours, days, months, and years chop up time into chunks that seem sensible.

But here’s an experiment: What if you were to measure the time of your life in other, very different units? Does life feel shorter? Longer? More absurd? More precious?
Now’s the time to find out.

Enter your birthdate—then confront the not-so-grim reaper as you find out just how much you have (left) to live for.

How many cat lifetimes until you die? How many blue moons? How much space junk has fallen to earth since you were born, and how many breaths have you taken?

Far more than a mere lifespan calculator, this illustrated journey explores the metrics, mileposts, and meaning of life’s span. Carpe diem!

What's New in Version 1.5

It's been 18 Saturdays since our last update but it's been worth the wait, because How Many Saturdays is now universal! Yes, enjoy the app that gets older with you on both your iPad and now iPhone. We've also squashed some bugs along the way and updated all our numbers for 2016.

Customer Reviews

Great idea. Horrible execution.

Every time you start the app you have to enter the birthday. It gives you all the little statistics at once. Those are the two biggest flaws. The way the app is designed it is like the developers intended you to download it once for a day and then delete the app.

How they could have done it as a notification device. Simply have the app record your birthday and then every so often send an alert reminding you how many cat farts or whatever there will be until you die. They could also run the statistics for weight, heart, smokers and so forth. They could provide links to healthy living tips and the like. They could have done just about anything to make this better.

Fairly interesting, could be better

I was very intrigued by this app and I was thoroughly interested in the information. There are some flaws, though. When I put my birthdate in, my estimated death changes. It also has no new information and keeps asking for your birth date. As many other reviewers have previously said, there should be more questions concerning health matters and other possible triggers of death. This game has an interesting message and has a wonderful idea, and I know it can do a lot better and I encourage it to do so.

Dumb

If you're going to predict when I might die maybe you should ask things like "smoker or non smoker? How often do you exercise? Any health issues? Do you have kids? Ethnicity? Weight/height? What's your diet like? Etc." but all this does is ask when are you born? Ok, so you'll die on this day. It would be cool if there was an app that asked a bunch of questions and then determined when it thought you would die. Obviously, there are just about a gazillion ways to die but we're just talking about natural causes or some kind of illness. Anyway, nobody exists on purpose, nobody belongs anywhere. Everyone is gonna die. Go watch TV.
