Excellent tool and teaching app

Every time I use this app I learn something. My cooking responsibilities have increased in the last few years and I find this app powerful and extremely useful. There are embedded links within recipes for everything from basic cutting and measuring techniques to step timers.
I agree with another reviewer that it would be a real feature upgrade if the Boolean logic for ingredient searches included a "NOT" option to eliminate allergens, wheat, etc when planning meals for guests or visitors.
Nonetheless, this program is worth every cent. I use it frequently and it has never failed to deliver.

I just read a bad review

...and had to write a review in response. This reviewer said he was disappointed by the lack of variations in the recipes...after saying they "knew their way around a kitchen!!!" Fact is, if you know your way around food ingredients, ALL recipes are infinitely variable! Plenty of reviews here testify to how much any cook can learn from this app. The breadth and the depth of kitchen knowledge presented here is unmatched, Bittman is a wonderful companion to have in your kitchen. If you don't see variation here, you lack kitchen confidence, something you only gain by doing!

Love it!

I am a long-time Bittman recipe fan, and thought the app may be useful. I never imagined it would be this great! Easy to use, and lots of really good recipes with REAL teaching techniques that are helpful even for those who know their way around the kitchen. My only request would be to be able to search for recipes that don't have an ingredient (like milk products), but I realize that's asking a lot! Great app and even better recipes!
