Touch ID Missing
Many competitors are using Apple Touch ID for their banking apps, including my other bank in Brazil. Also many other finance apps. Its time for this upgrade, its proven safe and makes life easer. Don't understand why the upgrades for HSBC takes so long, the app just came out after everyone else had it, check deposit just came not long ago. Other improvement should be able to better transition between countries, right now you have to go through the whole list to find your country, should have favorites countries. One of the biggest bank of the globe should have better mobile team.
I have had so much trouble with the security device feature of this app. I've locked myself out of y account nearly 5 times in the last year so I started writing down my security passcode. Even still, I keep getting locked out. This makes me think there is a problem with the app and not my memory. It got the the point that I asked them to remove security completely. Two passwords should be plenty. I don't really need a (buggy) third security password.
Old and clunky.
I use another banking app called Simple. You should really look into their app and see how successful and efficient their app is.
As of the last 30 minutes, I've got the spinning wheel of death just to try to log into my account.
For a worldwide bank, this is unacceptable. Broken app and a website that updates a week or two later. You most likely have the money and best in-house mobile designers and developers to help create a better mobile app if not hire a great agency to create a better app than this!
