Hudway — HUD navigation app for night-time driving
By HUDWAY LLC
This app is only available on the App Store for iOS devices.
Turns your smartphone into a head-up display for any car — specially designed app for driving in low visibility conditions.
"Hudway is one of the cleverest driving apps we've seen"
"Hudway app is unbelievably cool for one special reason: It actually lets you see your directions and route right on your windshield"
— USA Today
"Hudway HUD tool will remind you nothing less than a science fiction movie that you watched recently"
"HUDWAY turns your windshield into a jet fighter cockpit"
This is a major revision of our existing HUDWAY app. We made it from scratch and it was large work. We did a lot of R&D on HUD interfaces to make it helpful and non-distracting. This version sees a brand new route visualization, handy trip info widgets, and lots of useful ride statistics in profile.
HUDWAY helps you drive safer in fog, rain, heavy snow, in dusk and darkness.
Create a route and place your smartphone on the dashboard — you’ll see the route reflected on your windshield. Keep your eyes on the road and know in advance what’s ahead — a straight run, or a ramp-turn. This is especially handy when driving between cities.
— Live 3D route moves as your vehicle moves — and you understand it immediately.
— Watch your current speed and the distance to the next turn right on the windshield.
— See how safely you drive: the app calculates your driving score based on your acceleration, braking, turns, and speeding data.
— Know your fuel consumption per each trip and the expenses on it.
— Switch among trip info widgets — check traveled and left distance, time spent and ETA.
— Get voice instructions — feels like driving with a co-pilot.
— Check the stats after the ride: maximum and average speed, acceleration, trip distance and duration.
— Collect miles and get bonuses.
— Save routes to drive them later, offline.
— Mark favorite routes, Home and Work locations — to quickly reuse them.
— Drive in map mode or HUD mode
— Works off Apple Maps
Note: If you face any problems or find any bugs, please email us at email@example.com or report the bug right from the app. We appreciate your feedback!
1. On a clear day, the device screen brightness is typically insufficient to give a decent reflection for HUD mode. In that situation, you can use the app in standard mode with the phone fixed with some mount, OR stay HUD using our HUDWAY Glass accessory (learn more about it at hudwayglass.com). At night, in dusk, or in dull weather the reflection is normally well-discernible.
2. When driving, make sure that your smartphone or tablet is well fixed in some mount or on some sticky pad, and doesn't prevent you from clearly seeing the road.
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Needs major improvements...
Some of the reviews have already mentioned this but this navigation app is missing a few very important features such as, no street names. I think it would be helpful in a navigation app I am using to tell me to turn on a certain street by name rather than just "make a right in 200 feet." I also find it annoying when you miss the route provided by the navigation and it takes a cool 30 seconds or so to update and get back on route. I really wanted to like this app but it still needs to be greatly improved in comparison to google maps, Waze, or even apple maps. I'll keep the app for now and hopefully try it again in the future when it has been updated.
5/5 would recommend/worth it
My father is a driver. He told me about this app and recommended to install it for safety driving. And he was right use it very often. It gives me every details about my driving like speed, turns, braking It helps me drive safely. I will share it with my friends .thanks for your great job
I paid for it thinking this app was going to be a good one. I was disappointed to find out the HUD did not tell you what street I needed to turn onto next when using the HUD. Why would you not do that? The premise of this being a safety feature is that the user does not have to return to the map view to check the name of the next street to turn on. I'm very disappointed Hudway.
