Continued use of location services running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Human is optimized to use minimal power and minimize the impact on your battery life. In most cases you should be able to easily get through the day, but results may vary based on network conditions and daily usage. We recommend to charge your phone at night or during periods of inactivity.
We store your data safely on our servers. You can request a full copy of all your data within the app. We will delete all your account and all your data on request.

Fun, but a battery drain and often wildly inaccurate
** Update: Many updates later it's still wildly inaccurate.
Props for a very motivating system and lovely design, but still constantly drains battery (I notice location tracking is always on) and cannot run in the background, so app must always be on. Despite this its location tracking and route guessing is terrible and often thinks I went on a wild high-speed zigzag through buildings when I didn't go anywhere at all! Moves, which also tracks user movement, is able to be far more accurate while running in the background so it's a shame. I originally started using Human about a year ago but deleted it because my iPhone 5 couldn't handle the battery drain, so it's incredibly disappointing to see that it still suffers from all the same issues. I still like the goal of trying to make 30 minutes a day so I'll keep using it, at least until something better comes along or I get an Apple Watch.
A whole new level of fitness
Since I first downloaded Human, I haven't been able to help myself - I do a fair amount of walking in my day to day activities, so having an app which combines a beautifully designed UI working with a very simplistic, easy to use app with such precision is incredible.
I can't lie, my life has changed from using Human. It has a ranking system which lets you see how you fare against other users - as well as the recently introduced Pulse, which shows other people in your area; all of this makes the app really appealing, in fact I will usually go out for a walk just to make sure I hit my daily targets - something I wouldn't have done for any reason before.
It's an incredible app, they keep adding new features which make it more appealing - it's awesome! Try it for a week and see the results.
This app looks beautiful, but that's about it. The more features they add, the more buggy it gets. I have gotten 30+ minutes every day for 2 months, it still states that my daily 30 streak is 0. The app also doesn't catch all activity. I've gone for an hour (nonstop) walk outside in a small city with great to excellent GPS coverage and this app says I walked for 3 minutes. All the settings are on, GPS, health kit, motion co-processor, and it still messed up. My other pedometer apps counted every step correctly without gps. I have contacted the developers multiple times on these issues and have heard nothing back and the bugs remain. Maybe they need to shift some attention from the UI to the functionality and accuracy. Beware of using this app alone for exercise!! If you are going to use it, have a back up pedometer, like the app pacer or something like it.
