Beta software at best.
I bought this app for the main purpose of highlighting my article PDFs on my Mac (as opposed to on my iPad which I feel is a slower process) so that I can then export them into a document manager such as Evernote. HyperPDF does the highlighting fine and exports it (not directly) without a problem with all the markups imbedded. So it does what I need. I do like the idea of the Reading view, although here I would say that it is not as graphically smooth as reading a book in iBooks (an experience which HyperPDF is attempting to recreate but a good start for version 1.0 nonetheless), and there is the aforementioned issue that needs to be fixed with being able to continue on flipping pages even after the PDF is done (minor issue, but its the minor details that make the difference). Also, I would love to see a magnifying glass option being available in reading mode. Overall, I am glad I got this at a discount of 1.99 (should be the standard price point for the amount of functionality) as opposed to 9.99 (not justifiable) which it normaly costs. I hope the developers continue working on this app as it definetly got room for improvement, still, for 1.0, its pretty good and does the job, so I recommend it, but only when the app is on sale.
Awesome application for reading PDF's
The makers of one of my favorite utilites Deskovery released HyperPDF today. I was pleasantly surprised with HyperPDF and purchased it after a few minutes of reading ATM. I love being able to swipe to turn pages. You are able to view a pdf within HyperPDF in four different modes, reading, presentation, editing and full screen mode. You can add notes, bookmarks, annotate your pdf's and it also integrates with keychain.
I am very happy with my purchase, especially because I read alot of pdf's and HyperPDF is the nicest pdf reader I have found.
Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
Can't Open Sticky Notes
I'd hoped to use this program in my electronic writing workshops in place of Adobe Acrobat Pro, but there's no way I can see to open the class's sticky notes when I project a pdf onto a screen during discussions of student comments.
I like the look of the app, had hoped it would be a more readable presentation for my students, but without being able to open sticky notes, it's a serious disappointment. I just bought it on $2 Tuesday, so the hit wasn't that big, but I do wish the program had more sophistication and options for collaborative writing, especially when dealing with documents many people have made comments on.
Something to keep in mind when updating the program in the future?
