A 'fastest finger first' buzzer for the iPhone! Now you and your friends can see who is the quickest with I Buzzed First! Have you ever wanted to host your own quiz, but needed an easy way to know who is the first to answer? I Buzzed First! is the app you need.
One iPhone acts as the 'Quiz Master', and any number of Contestants (on separate iPhones) connect to the quiz. When you're ready to start, the Quiz Master starts the first round, and the buzzer buttons on all the Contenstant's iPhones light up. The first Contestant to press their buzzer is rewarded with a satisfying sound, and locks all the other Contestants out. Then the Quiz Master starts the next round, and off you go again!
I Buzzed First! even tells everyone in the quiz the name of the person who buzzed first. Any number of Contestants can connect to the same quiz.
NOTE: The app will need to be installed on at least THREE iPhones to be useful. One iPhone acts as the 'Quiz Master', and two (or many more) other iPhones join the quiz to see who buzzes first. All the iPhones MUST be connected to the same WiFi network. (Will not work on 2/3G only)
* Fully Compatible with the Android version of I Buzzed First! *
You can form a quiz with any combination of iPhones and Android Phones running I Buzzed First!

Used it for a family game of Jeopardy on Christmas. It worked very well for us after we all made sure to turn the auto lock off. And if someone exited the game or received a text or alert of some kind, the quizmaster would have to exit as well and start a new quiz. We did find if someone wasn't "in" then another person could buzz to reset it for everyone rather than the quizmaster having to restart the quiz. We used it with 5 iPhones and 1 Droid n it worked well. I did notice that some people would buzz and the quizmaster would here or feel a Vibrate for some contestants but not for others. Overall after we really "learned" the ins n outs it worked great. We will b using again in the future.
Good idea, poor execution
It does what it says, when it works.
However, if your iPhone auto locks after 1-2 minutes, the app will become disconnected from the quiz host (with no indication of any problem at all). You can get around this by tapping the screen, but doing so triggers the buzzer. The best thing is to disable auto lock, which is inconvenient but effective.
The app also crashed on startup a couple times for me, after i realized it had become disconnected from the host and tried to relaunch the app.
All this happened in the middle of a quiz, and kind of killed the fun. We resorted to shouting instead of buzzing. No app required for that.
Recently tried to use this app with a group of 10. Several users locked up within minutes of starting. You cannot lock your screen or everyone gets kicked out.
