Very cool but with some flaws
I'm giving this five stars because of the creativity and originality of this game, and I enjoyed the quirky sci-fi plot and I'd like to see a sequel. But there were a few flaws, the most annoying being literally the worst voice acting I have ever heard! They need to hire real actors, it just takes you out of the game when the acting is that bad. Also the map was useless, not transporting, but I just used the hint button to get direction where to go. Convoluted but fun sci-fi story, and as a huge sci-fi fan, it was great to have that genre which is so rare in these games. Beautiful creative graphics, original mini games, but very short with an abrupt ending. This is an older game and still no part two, which is too bad, I'd definitely buy it if there was a sequel.
My least favorite of all their games
Moving between scenes was annoying. Either you were touching and touching the arrow to move or it was taking you to the next room when you were trying to zoom in or out or in the hidden items scenes if you touched any where near the mini game, in or out of it, whoosh you'd go to the other screen.
There was very little to no logic to finding the items you need. Sometimes you'd pick up items well before you needed them or had a clue what they were for.
Then other times you'd go back to a room after completing a step, and something you'd thoroughly explored before would, with no logic or indication that it was different, be what you needed.
I had to use the hint key more with this game then any of their others.
So freakin' weird!
I felt like I was trapped inside somebody's really stupid dream!!
There were fun elements, like the lantern games, but they were almost overshadowed by the cheesiness of it all. Reeeeally nonsensical storyline...and pretty bad voice acting, though that did make it more comical.
Would have been nice if there had been text descriptions of the items I was picking up in the game.
And yet, another game with another useless journal that helped with nothing at all other than grating my nerves every time I saw sparkles rise up from the book.
