NOTE
1. Writer has no settings: with Writer you cannot fumble with fonts and colors. All you can do is write.
2. Currently only Latin alphabet languages plus Chinese, Japanese, Greek, and Russian are officially supported (no Vietnamese, Thai, Hebrew, Arabic etc. support… yet).
3. Writer uses plain text files, such as .txt and .md, in “UTF-8” encoding.

Close, but still quite buggy
The 2.0 update still does not support line breaks when pressing Shift-Return. You have to type <br> to get a line break, which looks fine unless you are exporting to RTF, which includes the <br> in the body of the exported text. That’s important because it effectively renders iA Writer useless for composing Rich Text emails, which is one of its touted features.
The app almost certainly needs some sort of page margin controls when exporting, or at least a native export to more standard 1” page margins. The margins you get in PDF exports seem to vary based on the text you have typed, which makes no sense. One export had a top margin near 2” while another export had a left margin near 0”. Very buggy.
I am, however, pleased with the reduction in size of the font. It looks much better on a MacBook with Retina Display.
Phenomenal App.
Never before have a writen a review for an app, but this app deserves it. I have no complaints; it’s a wonderful markdown editor that’s easy on the eyes. I use it whenever I take notes, and the export function makes it very easy to convert it to a .docx file if need be.
Best in class
I write scripts with this terrific app - on my mac and with iOS version on the iPAd and iPhone. Wherever you go, there you are.
