VERY IMPORTANT - After downloading iBox, go to http://teliapp.com/ibox/ to download the iBox Control Panel for Windows and the iBox Manual to help you get set up. iBox will not work without the use of the iBox Control Panel running on your Windows desktop or laptop.

----------------------------

Not enough space on your iPhone to store all your favorite movies, tv shows and music? No problem! Just keep everything on your computer and stream it any time you want right to your iOS device. Amazing!

iBox enables any iOS device to connect wirelessly and directly to any Windows computer that is turned on, connected to the Internet and has the iBox Control Panel running.

Currently, iBox supports viewing and opening virtually any file on your computer and external or network hard drive, including but not limited to documents, charts, presentations, pictures and all video media. This version also supports media streaming.

iBox is $0.99 with unlimited updates. There is no monthly service fee component or additional fees in order to use iBox.

Currently iBox supports any computer using Windows. In future releases, iBox will also support Mac. In future releases, iBox will support online catastrophic storage/backup. iBox supports connection to one computer at a time. In future releases, iBox will support simultaneous connections to multiple computers.

Although cloud hosting continues to be on the rise, many people wish that they didn’t have to store their personal, private or business data on “someone else’s” server in order to access it. Syncing local data with cloud services also presents various logistical issues. When users change local data, cloud syncing doesn’t always happen instantly, causing duplication of efforts, confusion and sometimes even loss of data. Cloud service companies give away a limited amount of free space and then up-sell their customers to pay hefty monthly fees in order to use the hard drive space the customer truly needs.

iBox enables a direct connection to your computer – without a third party intermediary. No syncing issues – ever. No monthly storage fees for “additional space” – ever. The only limitation to hard drive space is the actual size of your hard drive.

Not Ready for Prime Time

I got this app to work but it has several problems. 1. Getting instructions to download the companion program and the instructions themselves are confusing (although they work if you follow them exactly). 2. From what I can tell, if you have a home network, you can only download files while you are connected the network. I tried to get support to check on that, and got no response. 3. The companion program is very clumsy. It is a cross between a client program and a service, and does not work too well as either. 4. The file interface is not very sophisticated, so, for example, when downloading pictures, you cannot see thumbnails. Wait for an update.

Difficult to setup, but works!

Most reviewers have given this 1 star because they cannot get it to work. I had difficulty as well, but finally got it after searching the internet for more information. You have to go to the iBox website and download the desktop version onto the desktop or laptop that you want to connect to first. When you download it, there are instructions for setting it up on the desktop and on the iOS device. Once I got all the settings correct, it connected and worked as it should. I only gave 3 starts because of the difficulty to setup.

Be patient

This interesting app doesn't seem to work just now. It won't connect the iPad to my laptop. May the future hold a greater promise.
