A perfect complement to the IrrigationCaddy

Introspective Jack

This app is a delight. It allows me to quickly turn off (or on) an irrigation line. This makes troubleshooting much easier. Suddenly I don't have to run back into the house multiple times when I'm working on my irrigation system. It also allows me to install new drip lines with repeated testing. Before the IC Sprinklers app I would just put the line in and check it after I completed my work. Also, have you ever discovered an irrigation line that was leaking explosively? With this app you just pull out your phone and turn off the valve. No Panic!

You can customize all of your controller and zone names so that they reflect your IrrigationCaddy system. The app has proved to be completely reliable and has become indispensable to my gardening (I have 3 separate IrrigationCaddys running a large irrigation layout.) This app gives me peace of mind.

Easy and conenient zone control for EtherRain

This app supports the EtherRain discovery protocol so it automatically finds your EtherRain controllers (you never have to worry about IP addresses!) It is very easy to pop a zone any of my three EtherRains, and I can pop a zone (turn a zone ON) and don't have to wait around to turn it off - it turns off by itself based on the run time that I chose. EtherRain doesn't store zone names, so you do have to enter your zone names into this app.

If you want extra features please send a support request to the developer - they are very helpful and interested in improving. Personally I'd like to see complete cycle support, but I'm happy with the convenience provided by this app for the price.

Semi Functional

I have an OpenSprinkler system and was looking for a better UI than the web interface so that I could more easily control the sprinklers for testing. While SprinklerAce has some potential, it uses some non-standard interface items (the row heights are too short), status isn’t updated properly, and there is no indication that an action has taken place. In addition, the icons used don’t look professional.

While I realize that most people using these types of systems are hobbyists and the author of this app is also probably a hobbyist, it is not a very polished app. If you look at the screenshots for the iPad version that claims to be optimized for it, you can see it doesn’t use a split view controller and simply uses the same navigation structure as the iPhone version.

I really wanted to like this app, but it needs a lot of work.
