Description
Completely redesigned for 2013, iControlAV2013 gives you complete control of your compatible 2013 Pioneer AV Receiver and Blu-ray Disc player using your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

Not only can you control the basic features of your AV receiver like volume, switching inputs, select the listening mode and power on and off. iControlAV2013 turns your iOS device into an advanced remote control, giving full control (i.e. SOUND EXPLORER) of your new AV receiver, and in a fun and intuitive way.
Adjust EQ settings with just the flick of a finger. Access and control the receiver's streaming services. Rename inputs to personalize the app for your system. Review before-and-after room calibration results. You can even control up to 3 zones, all from one device and all on iControlAV2013's beatiful new user interface.
Other all-new features for 2013 include:
- PUSH PLAYER - stream music via AirPlay directly from your iOS device, complete with album art and song info.
- ECO MANAGER - Access and control the receiver's power-saving ECO modes
- STATUS VIEWER - View the Audio/Video signal(input-and-output) information and Surround result image.
- Supports multiple devices simulateneously - up to four different iOS devices can control the AV receiver at once, ideal when you're taking advantage of the receiver's multi-room capabilities
- Easy Navigation - Improved navigation makes it easy to access all of the app's features directly from the Home Menu
Designed for both iPhone and iPad, the iPad version has a unique user interface specifically designed to take advantage of the iPad device's larger screen.

Works just enough to not complain
The app is great, works with my 1223 AV but my fear is 2014 will bring a new app from Pioneer and leave me in the past. There are some bugs that need to be fixed. For example Pandora, it doesn't refresh and need to switch inputs then go back to Pandora for the in app controls to work.
Pioneer needs to learn to update and fix their apps rather then start from scratch every new year. When you spend $1k on a receiver you expect it to have some shelf life and keep up with Denon and Marantz.

I've had this app for a while and not 1 single update. I mean are you kidding? Pioneer, welcome to iOS 8, it's time for an update. Support your products I'm sick of rebooting your app for Pandora.
I can no longer recommend your AV as an alternative to Sonos. Wake up Pioneer before it's too late.
Purchased my receiver for the app.
I was researching receivers for our new media room. These days connectivity to mobile devices are an important part controlling the unit. Pioneer had the best application hands down so I purchased Pioneer. Our new Pioneer receiver is a very good piece of equipment and the app really works great.
The only thing that bothered me a bit is that our favorite radio stations aren't on the list under internet radio. None of them. Wish there was a way to add internet stations. Perhaps on the next update.
Pioneer will abandon you!
Pioneer makes apps that only works on ONE model year, no backwards compatibility. When the next model year comes, they stop support for the older app, even when the app breaks because of iOS updates. To be clear, older apps deliberately do not work on newer hardware, and newer apps deliberately do not work on older hardware.
This means you can only even USE Pioneer's fancy app until an iOS update breaks it, or you never update your iPad or iPhone and you never get a new one.
This policy is utter crap! Even though the app seems better than its competitors, it is not, because the app is only useable for a tiny fraction of the life of the Pioneer Hardware.
