Description

IMPORTANT USAGE NOTE: currently only available in the Santa Cruz, CA area.

Report noisy aircraft to the FAA with just three clicks! We do not keep any personal information on our servers. We don't track any of your personal information. We keep anonymous logs about which aircraft are generating complaints.

Q: I just heard a plane but I don't see it on the map in the app. What gives?
A: Only planes with ADS-B transponders will appear on the map, and only those which our radio server can see with line-of-sight. This covers the majority of the planes on the approach path to SFO over Santa Cruz, which are the noisiest of our problems.

Q: What is this strange code like a3cf6e I see on planes?
A: Each plane has a unique transponder ID. This is the primary way to identify aircraft. It's called the ICAO24 address. airframes.org is a great resource to learn more.

Q: It doesn't work.
A: I'm sorry, please send feedback! I'll fix it ASAP

Q: Why isn't this available in Hometown, USA or other parts of the world?
A: The data for this map comes from a special radio that is connected to our server on location in Santa Cruz, CA. Right now we only have one radio dedicated to serving a specific community. We might expand soon! Let us know if you'd like to see the noise reporter work in your area.

Q: This is great!
A: I'm glad you think so, but that's not in the form of a question.

Q: I like turtles.
A: I'm happy for you but again, not a question.

Q: This is so great I want to give you money. How can I pay you?
A: Use your money to support politicians that want to do something about the noise problem. If you insist, you can buy me a beer next time we see each other.

Excellent live tracking reports

Jimboy Jackson

This app gives near-real time tracking of flights over a map that can be “pinched” in or out for regional to house-level views. Clicking on an airplane icon give the flight ID, which can then be clicked on to send an email complaint. Only for Santa Cruz County and immediate surrounding area. Works great, every time! We need to encourage our neighbors to use tools like this to keep reporting the loud overflights caused by the FAA’s NextGen route changes.

Major app - minor bug

YapSang

Latest version is more responsive, and I'm encountering less issues, but there's one annoying little bug that needs to be addressed ASAP. The contact info (set up in Settings) now contains the words Optional "..." by each of the lines in the automatically generated email (iPhone 6 iOS 9.1).

We love this app, thank you for creating it. The app hasn't been working for the last week, didn't know where to reach out to. It is not showing any planes on the map anymore. I have tried restarting and also reloading the app with no luck. Hope we're back online soon. Thank you from the Santa Cruz Mountains!
