Awesome tool for screening

I LOVE this app!!! I don’t know how, but for some reason in the past few months I suddenly began receiving dozens and dozens of robo calls and telemarketing calls. Must have inadvertently disclosed my number on the wrong form. What REALLY annoyed me about it was that I am and have been on the National Do Not Call registry, which makes this contact illegal. However, because of my job I do often receive calls from unknown numbers, so I often pick up. I was so annoyed, I was quite honestly on the verge of changing my number entirely.

Anyway, downloaded this app after a recommendation. It tells you if the call you don’t recognise is a scam or suspected scam, and offers you the chance to block all future calls from that number. You can also add numbers to the block list at any point, and it’s very easy.

After a week with this app, my unwanted calls dropped from about 10-20 per day to 3-5, and now - two months in- I’m down to on average 2-3 per week. SO much better!

Enough Was ENOUGH! Thank You, Mr. #!

I’m one of those folks that usually doesn’t rate apps that often, but, in this case, I am more than happy to do so. After being absolutely besieged by telemarketers, spammers and scammers, I discovered Mr. Number, and after downloading the app I immediately began to get results. With the block option, I have seen the number of these annoying calls dramatically reduced. Perhaps I’m overkilling the block option, as I not only block the numbers through MN, but I also block the number on my IPhone, as well.

I also downloaded an app called RoboKiller, which, for $3/month not only blocks such callers, but gives you the option of wasting the caller’s time by having THEM listen to a different recording, some of them quite funny. Recordings such as, “Congrats, you have won a FREE Bahamas vacation”, or, “Oh, my God, it’s a nuclear war,” or other such recordings. It’s quite funny to go back and hear THEIR reactions that have wasted THEIR time. There is a “random” recording that chooses any of the messages arbitrarily, and RoboKiller also blocks the number or you can choose to allow the number.

RoboKiller costs more than Nr. Number, but it has served me as a secondary fortification against these annoying callers.

But I will continue to use Mr. Number as well, and do highly recommend it. Thank you for allowing me to get my phone back, Nr. Number!

SHARES YOUR NUMBER!!!

I gave this 2 stars because it does a decent reverse search (for businesses only - no cell phones); however, it very rarely warns of telemarketers, and worst of all I’ve noticed a VAST increase in the amount of automated & spam phone calls ever since registering w the app!! I really never got any before.

For some reason you have to provide your cell phone number (I don’t know why you’d need to), but I thought it would be worth it to know who was calling before answering. Well, it doesn’t even do that. You have to copy the phone number, then open the app and look it up (which can’t be done while the phone is ringing). So it only works retroactively. Even after blocking a number, I’ve gotten a second scam call from the same company (different extension). I’ve read other reviews saying the same thing, and can only conclude that the developers share your phone number with 3rd parties.
