Join Trainers across the globe who are discovering Pokémon as they explore the world around them. The newest update to Pokémon GO, the global gaming sensation that has been downloaded over 750 million times and named “Best Mobile Game” by The Game Developers Choice Awards and “Best App of the Year” by TechCrunch, introduced a revamped Gym gameplay experience, including the opportunity to join together with others to battle against powerful Pokémon in the new Raid Battle feature!
Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Pikachu, and many other Pokémon have been discovered!
Now’s your chance to discover and capture the Pokémon all around you—so get your shoes on, step outside, and explore the world. You’ll join one of three teams and battle for the ownership of Gyms with your Pokémon at your side.
Pokémon are out there, and you need to find them. As you walk around a neighborhood, your smartphone will vibrate when there’s a Pokémon nearby. Take aim and throw a Poké Ball… You’ll have to stay alert, or it might get away!
Search far and wide for Pokémon and items
Certain Pokémon appear near their native environment—look for Water-type Pokémon by lakes and oceans. Visit PokéStops and Gyms—found at interesting places like museums, art installations, historical markers, and monuments—to stock up on Poké Balls and helpful items.
Catching, hatching, evolving, and more
As you level up, you’ll be able to catch more-powerful Pokémon to complete your Pokédex. You can add to your collection by hatching Pokémon Eggs based on the distances you walk. Help your Pokémon evolve by catching many of the same kind. Choose a Buddy Pokémon to walk with and earn Candy that will help you make your Pokémon stronger.
Take on Gym battles and defend your Gym
As your Charmander evolves to Charmeleon and then Charizard, you can battle together to defeat a Gym and assign your Pokémon to defend it against all comers. You can also participate in Raid Battles at Gyms around the world. A Raid Battle is a cooperative gameplay experience that encourages you to work with up to 20 other Trainers to defeat an extremely powerful Pokémon known as the Raid Boss. If you succeed in defeating it in battle, you’ll have the chance to catch an extra powerful Pokémon of your own!
It’s time to get moving—your real-life adventures await!

What's New in Version 1.49.3
Really like this game but...
I've played since Day 2. I've weathered the ups and downs. They had a great tracking system at launch so you could find Pokémon you actually wanted to find, but then scrapped it without really explaining why or giving us something equivalent. They gave and took with new content (gyms), they've been a little slow implementing Pokémon into the game. They made a companion Apple Watch app, with limited functionality. The game crashes constantly on my phone, especially in densely populated areas (where more Pokémon and pokestops are). They've threatened and forced closure of sites which were great at helping people find the Pokémon they wanted because the in-game tools don't cut it.
Despite all this negativity, this is a really fun game that melds two of my favorite things: walking/running outside and video games. It's not perfect, but it is fun, and there is a rush when you catch something you've been really wanting. I have a feeling I will be playing this game for a while longer still.
Upgrades to ios11 effectively broke the Pokémon go plus device’s usefulness, and Niantic was slow to acknowledge the issue and even slower to fix it (it still has not been fixed).
Loyal Pokémon go gamer
I really love this game but the fact that I cannot do a raid battle for a legendary Pokémon on my own is increasingly Aggravating unfortunately there are not many players that can come out during the time of legendary raiding I think it should be possible for any one person to take on a legendary Pokémon their self if they have the proper Pokémon to do so but that’s not the only thing I would like to say PVP is the most sensual part of the legacy of Pokémon GO and for it to not be included in the game is extremely unacceptable catching Pokémon is fun but to battle them with your friends and against your friends is the point of the game to be the best that no one ever was we will never be able to become Great trainers if we are not given the opportunity to put our hard work and time into The most important part of the game battling against Friends all the same I love the game but I am going to be taking a hiatus from the game until such time it is fair for a single trainer to take on a legendary Pokémon alone and we are able to battle against our friends I don’t really want to have to do this but the game is losing its point to play that is all goodbye for now
I am very sad to say that I am disappointed with this app... I have played this game/app ever since day 1 of last year along with spending money on this game as well. I’ve played EVERYDAY & EVERY Event. This the fourth time the Mewtwo raid pass has been released & I still did not get one. The first two times I understand that I did not raid at Sprint Stores...But the nearest sprint store to me takes about 1hr sometimes through traffic to reach.
The third time I went and spent money again and did Raids at the nearest sprint store and the ex raid pass was released by random. I still raid to this day, maybe not as much as you would like me to but it takes a lot to keep spending.
I have even made and organized raid chats so my district don’t have to travel far to raids. I can understand that this is just for a raid, but we are talking about MEWTWO! The legendary Mewtwo! So please I would really appreciate it and be really grateful if I could get an invitation raid pass to the next Mewtwo, or at least get the slightest hint so I may have a chance to get Mewtwo. This brings me sadness, & I hope you may hear me out...
I would not like to think that a year since playing this game has come to a complete waste. 😢
