What the press said:

“MASTERPIECE! Inside is a 2D puzzle platformer that builds upon what made Limbo great, and in fact builds something greater.”
10/10 – IGN

“Inside expands on the concepts and scope of its predecessor in wildly creative ways, and it's so immaculately designed and constructed from top to bottom that it almost feels suitable for display in an art museum. This is one hell of a follow-up.”
5/5 – Giant Bomb

“Gorgeous art and animations, devious puzzle design and a pitch-black sense of humor. A perfectly paced series of escalating "holy s**t" moments.”

Editors’ Choice

Deciphering this game is no easy task—it feels like a metaphor. Is it a commentary on the fragile nature of trust and human connection? A scathing critique of our blind adherence to authority? Or is it just really weird? Regardless, INSIDE is an incredible journey with increasingly bizarre encounters that mix action with clever puzzle designs. The game isn’t meant to be entirely understood. It’s meant to be experienced.

Beautiful yet...

Stunning artwork. Great gameplay. However, having played through (full game) multiple times, I’m left feeling it’s just too short. The puzzles are challenging but I’m wanting more. If anything, that’s a testament to the quality of the game. I want to play more. That said, while there is a heavily implied story there also isn’t a story. You don’t learn anything more of what’s happening from when you begin to when you finish. I haven’t completed all the challenges (and I’m experiencing bugs where finding them does not update/honor having completed/found them), so maybe there is a sense of finality in doing so but I’m left wanting more. Either more gameplay or more of an answer as to why/what you experience through the character matters in terms of story. I feel I can rationalize what happens in the end by my own interpretation (and maybe this is intended) but ultimately I’m left with questions that are less the result of a story open to interpretation and more a feeling of why/how does what I’ve experienced result in something conclusive? Not going to get my hopes up but would love to see an update that offers expansion on the backstory of the world you experience in game.

Great Game but Touch Screen Controls Take Away from the Experience

Hodgepodge Brain

If I had been able to play this on my computer, I am absolutely sure I would have given it a perfect score. Unfortunately it is not available for Mac and this is the only other way I can play this stunning game.
The game is stunning in not only the artwork and style but the story as well.
The only detraction from the experience I had were the controls. Controlling it on a touch screen can be unwieldy at times and at worst almost unplayable. There were times where I knew the solution to a puzzle but as soon as I’d try the controls wouldn’t work and I would have to start over. When you’re running and jumping, the controls work great but doing the underwater or rope climbing portions is very frustrating.
If you’re considering whether or not to get this game for a touch screen or other device, get it on the other device. While I can’t speak for pc or console controls, they have to be better than these controls.
However, the actual content of this game is fantastic. I don’t think I can put into words the headspace it gets you into as you play and the empathy you feel for the little boy you play as. It truly deserves all the praise it gets.
