If you want your life back, GET IT
First thing, delete your social media apps (not your accounts), the mobile browser version of Instagram, Facebook and Twitter is as good as the app. You can still tweet, see stories etc but you can ditch being logged in all the time and break the habit of mindlessly swiping. Check your profiles in the morning and block the sites using liberate for the rest of the day. I usually have one to three periods of time where I can check social sites but I’m finding I don’t even have an interest in checking most of the day. I was just checking because it was one tap to open up the application and poke around.
Added benefit: who knows what trackers come installed with those apps, following you all around while you browse the web. I use two other apps - Firefox focus and private internet access to block trackers and cookies. I’m seeing way less advertisements and I’m giving giving them way less information about me. I also recommend using the adchoices app / website to opt-out of hundreds of marketing company databases.
I also disabled the news feature on my phone and block all news sites during the day. I disabled notifications for anything that isn’t absolutely critical. I’m not spending less time with my phone, I’m just doing better things with it. Texting and calling my real friends and family, learning about things I care about.
To be honest, I am still in credulous that this app is for free. I think the biggest benefit to it as one, that it doesn’t have any ads to, it allows you to blocks site time does fly by doesn’t allow you to easily stop the timer. And finally three it is such a clean and cool in her face that he allows me really to focus on what I need to get amateurs schoolwork and not reddit. Shirley they’re not a ton of apps that provide all this functionality for the price of freedom in fact there is not apps that you can pay for that provide the same level of function. I would highly highly highly recommend this app
This app is amazing!!!
I have a bad habit of wasting time on reddit when I should be studying. This app is exactly what I was looking for. (I have leechblock for Firefox on my laptop but I was still able to get around it by using my phone.) I was looking for something similar for iPhone when I came across Liberate.
This app is really easy to use and I’m glad it can’t be disabled until after the time period has passed!! I’m definitely recommending it to other people!! Incredibly useful for procrastinators
