IT’S OK TO TAKE A BREAK
It’s not uncommon for work to dominate your life. Unfortunately, this happens at the expense of your personal life. There is a very real feeling of guilt that comes along with taking breaks. You feel like you should be working every chance you get. It doesn’t have to be this way.
It’s ok to take a break. It’s ok to work 8 hours or less per day. It’s ok to read a book instead of emails. It's ok to go for a hike instead of working on Saturday. Work isn’t everything. Be serious about your downtime.
** NEW IN 2.7.1
- Fixed a bug that caused some video game searches to not return any results
** NEW IN 2.7
I’m really excited for this release. There are an enormous amount of ways that you can spend your downtime. So far, Sofa has been able to help you with a few of those: books, movies & TV, and podcasts. Today we are adding a few more to that list.
Search for and add music albums to your lists. You can search by album title or artist.
Search for and add video games to your lists. Search by video game title.
DYNAMIC TYPE SUPPORT
Sofa now respects your iPhone font size settings. Whether you prefer super tiny or extra large text, it will look great in Sofa.
You’ll notice a bunch a small UI improvements and polish throughout the app
- Fixed a bug that allowed you to delete your Quick List and Activity. You shouldn’t be able to do that. If you accidentally did that in the past, this update will bring those lists back.
I truly thank you for supporting Sofa. If you have feedback or any thoughts you’d like to share, please reach out: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Ratings and Reviews
For the organized movie buff
As a cinephile and co-host of movie podcast Film Loop, I need a tool to help me organize the films I watch and keep notes on. Sofa is just the app for the job. The UI is simple and clean, clearing away distractions. I can keep lists on my own terms and there’s a great feature to see my activity and when I’ve finished watching something on my list. I’m not sure I can run my podcast as smoothly without Sofa!
Does what you need, well
Sofa doesn’t try to do any more than you need. Keep lists of movies, shows, and books you want to remember for later. Once you’ve completed one, check it off (it’s saved in a separate list). You could use a ton of other generic list-making apps to do the same, but Sofa has all the little touches that are tailored to these media.
Would benefit from some onboarding
5 min in and I've been asked twice to give a rating, so these knobs likely need adjustment.
I'm not clear on what Activity and Quick List are for - is it possible to create new lists of these? Or just the bottom set of lists that seem to more just be categories such as Books and Movies?
Can an item be a Movie and in Quick List? Or is it a folder model where everything exists in one place instead of multiple, as in tags?
When something is checked off as done, it looks like it gets moved to Activity, and possibly like the list of content it came from loses that context?
These are the things that confuse me a bit, hope the feedback is helpful!
Developer Response ,
Sorry about the double ratings message popping up. That shouldn’t be happening. We’ll fix that.
Also, thanks for the insight into our onboarding process. This will really help to improve things for future people.
