Challenging yet lacking
This game is pretty great, especially if your a fan of plague inc. It has a similar style and difficulty. There’s quite a lot of variability in the game too; with each map being unique and requiring different strategies as far as starting position and resource investment.
There are some faults but there’s only one major complaint that I have regarding garrisons. The ai placement of garrisons makes about half of them useless since they seem to be placed at random, but if you don’t place them you wind up even worse off than before. The insurgence is hard enough to defeat in single zones on brutal and it doesn’t help when the only garrison the people want to build is as far away from the battle as possible. I’m sure there’s some factor contributing to where the ai places the garrisons but I would think they’d be more likely to be placed near cities that are attacked frequently. Stationing soldiers isn’t really an option because the insurance will just claim other territories and steal the city as soon as you leave. It also seems kind of ridiculous that sometimes it takes soldiers 23 turns to move to an adjacent tile but that’s a minor complaint.
Overall I really like the game! Keep up the good work!
This game is awesome because they took there old game kept the format (to some extent) and made it greater. I love this game because everything that happens for most of the game is determined in the first 3 minutes because most upgrades take time to be used (which they should) and the in depth timing strategy you have to use throughout the rest of the game. Love the maps and love that the governors are radically different from each other so each game takes different strategy. There is really one thing I don’t like about the game it’s that when you put troops in a zone if you haven’t scouted that zone already your troops wont help neighboring zones fight which is kind of anoying. Some suggestions for future updates (although I know you already have great ones planned) it would be cool if we could play as the underpowered rebels and try to either get the best peace deal possible or just take over. And it would be neat to see more types of military troops maybe like dogs that sniff out and tell you where the next zone to be attacked is or some riot control that contain insergunts until you can send in real troops to wipe em out. Thanks for another great game please keep up the awesome work!
This is an excellent game with everything that I wanted but never had: a challenging, strategic, and realistic political simulator. There is far more depth to the game than I thought was even present in Plague Inc, and the game mechanics need some balancing, but it’s very fine for a new release. I played through all levels on brutal, but got stuck on the last map. But the insurgent mechanics need to be nerfed, because my fully modernized and mechanized coalition forces can only move a few tiles before some ragtag insurgents that fall out of the sky behind friendly lines are able to take a major city and end the game. And even if I catch up to them in time, it doesn’t matter because they are literally invincible unless I corner them, which typically requires 3-4 units (i.e. everyone) so I have to pull everything from the front lines just to stabilize the smallest threats. And the reputation needs to be booned. Otherwise it’s a great game that I’m looking forward to!
