Description

The most realistic polyhedral dice simulation on the iPhone just got better. Mystery Coconut's Pip 2 features a new look, colored dice, more dice types, and the same high usability standards. Do you want to play your favorite role-playing game or board game, but forgot your dice? Now you can have all the dice you need inside your iPhone or iPod Touch.

FEATURES:
- Choose from a selection of nine different dice in eight vibrant colors, allowing you to play anything from D&D® to the YAHTZEE® dice game. New in Pip 2, double-digit ten-sided dice, Fudge dice, and average dice for wargame enthusiasts.
- Drag your dice in and out of the tray, and shake or double-tap to roll. Touch them, move them around with your finger, throw them against each other, tap them to lock or unlock, slide them from under the tray by tilting the device.
- Save up to 10 of your favorite dice sets.
- Quality 3d models and perfect physics simulation. You will be surprised at how well these dice feel!
- Unobtrusive, synchronized sound effects.
- Pip 2 is 2x faster than ever before, even on first generation devices running iPhone OS 2.x. Pip also opens in a wink so you can start using your dice right away.

THINGS WE DO NOT FEATURE:
- No dice formulas, logs or automatic dice result calculations. If you are looking for these, we heartily recommend our fine competition MachDice or Dicenomicon.
- Pip is not a game on its own! It is a physics-based dice simulation for games you already own that will give you truly random results.

Excellent simulation

This is a very nice dice simulator (though it appears to simulate rolling dice in a low-gravity environment....)

Version 2 adds a few game-specific dice, such as fudge dice or the averaging die, but of course the basic "D&D set" is all there as well. I like the ability to set colors, but I'm not a fan of the round tab that sticks out all the time-- I much preferred version 1's way of pulling the dice drawer out from the edge.

As others have mentioned, it would be nice if you could change backgrounds and name dice sets so it's easier to know at a glance what bunch of dice you're looking at.

Overall though, this has the best feel of the dice rollers I've looked at. Very nice job!

UPDATE: I would just lurve to see this app updated for Retina and the iPhone 5 screen. Still a great app!

If you roll dice, you need this app

Now, nothing's going to replace the feel of real dice in your hand, but this is damned close and a lot more convenient. As a GM, I can set a screen of dice for each monster before we start, then never mix up which ones I'm using.

As a player, having a set for your favorite weapon combinations and spells is just as nice. One screen for full attacks, one for when you're enlarged, and so on. And it means you can play on the comfy chair away from the table. Just sayin'

Our only complaint? My wife and I don't have an excuse to spend $20 on dice every year at GenCon anymore. Our decade-long dice addiction slain by a single app. It's honestly a little sad, but we're dealing with it.

By far the most clean and elegant dice app

This is by far the most simple clean dice app I have seen. Many are ugly utility only, or over concerned with textures and tilting tables. this one is more about user experience. it's quick and easy to add or remove dice to the table and choose colors of those dice.
it was not instantly clear that I could slide the dice drawer up and down so I was wondering for a few minutes about how to get to the other dice up top.

I hope to see future upgrades for iPad and retina.
