Customer Reviews

I never rate apps or write reviews. I wish I could say that I don't see the point --but I do see the point. I appreciate reading reviews myself. HOWEVER...

This app has totally saved the day. We recently moved to a new state and I was getting ready to cook a recipe that I had not made in a while. I went to reference my recipe book (I have spent years putting together- altering, perfecting, and many are based on recipes that I found on the Internet years ago and then altered) only to discover that somehow in the jumble of the move we did not pack the recipe book. MY RECIPE BOOK. I never realized the importance of it until this day. And we moved so many months ago, all our things in storage while we were finding a place to live that there's no getting it back. It's long gone.

I'll spare the rest of the lengthy story telling you how I came about finding this app in my search to save the day and I will just cut to the chase. The recipe I was looking for had a few key ingredients that I entered in the search. My recipe - the one I printed off years ago recipe!! Came up at the top, there it was!! I didn't have to search the thousands of recipes of the same thing online, allrecipes had my back with a very well programmed reverse search function. I can restore my cookbook with this. Thank you so much!!!!!

First app ever that I can say I'm incredibly grateful for.

We recently became empty nesters and I miss having my son and friends in the kitchen with me. I didn't want to make the same things I always made for my kids growing up but was having a really hard time finding new recipes and honestly was a little down on the whole thing.

I had gotten to the point where I was just letting my poor husband do all the cooking.

I have used allrecipes for years but hadn't used it or the app in over a year. I don't know why I got on it today but I did and I'm floored.

In about 20 minutes I had two new recipes and the easiest shopping list I've ever had.

I am BLOWN away.
My husband was thrilled to finally come home to dinner on the stove again and I was thrilled to make him so happy.

I know it sounds silly but this has put the cooking spark back in me and I'm excited to surf your recipes again. Yes, it's been a life-changer. So seriously, thank you ❤️

Btw, a little something I learned long ago... if you need a recipe for a family or social gathering and you're savvy enough to know to look for something highly rated on allrecipes, when everyone starts raving about your dish, you don't have to tell them where you got the recipe. Just let them think you're a kitchen goddess/god 😇

Edit: we've started having friends & family over for dinner more often now so all I can say is Thank You for making it a hundred times easier to entertain 😃

My Go-to Source For (Nearly) All Recipes--the app could use some adjustments though

I've only been using the application for a few days and I like it well enough. I've been using AllRecipes for months, even years, and find it to be a very large database of good recipes.

As for the app itself, I like that I CAN search the database using ingredients, but I find the "add ingredient" feature slightly more difficult to use than is really necessary. Why make someone pull the screen down--which doesn't always work--just to add an ingredient and then have to push the plus sign? Pulling the screen down for every ingredient is a little annoying. Since this is such an important part of the application for me, I docked it a full star for this.

Personally, I think the website is just as easy or easier to use than the app, but I use the app because it prevents my iPad from going to sleep.
