Description

Save over $300 a year!* Voted the best gas price app on the iPhone and iPod. Fuel Finder is the most premium gas price app on the App Store.

Want a Free iPhone?: Fuel Finder will pay for itself in one tank of gas and will pay for your iPhone after one year of use.

Fuel Finder is the most comprehensive source of gas prices in the US and Canada because it is compiled from price reports submitted my millions of users, just like you! And the Fuel Finder app is the most feature-rich fuel finder available for the iPhone. Compare for yourself.

Gas prices change frequently and may vary as much as 20% within only a few blocks. It’s important to be able to find the service station with the lowest priced fuel.

*These are actual figures from 3/8/2011: A car that has an 18 gallon tank that gets 18 MPG in the city and drives 15,000 miles per year in Dallas, TX will save up to $7.56/tank and $389.22/year by using the Fuel Finder app. Savings can change by the minute.

There are several gas price apps on the App Store. What makes Fuel Finder the best of the bunch? We invite you to compare:

-- Find by US ZIP Code or improved GPS Auto Locate.

Customer Reviews

Very good, not quite perfect

Lacks one feature for me: the ability to filter for specific brands (plural) when looking for gas. You get the top 20 results, but don't waste my 20 showing me a bunch of cheap no-name convenience store gas. I contacted them about that possible feature a couple of years ago. To their credit, they did respond to me and thanked me for the suggestion, but said they had no plans for such a feature. As a former programmer, I can tell you that's not a difficult thing to implement--at all. Maybe I'm the only one who has a preference for certain brands of gas.

It also has a bug that appears on both the Pricing and the Reporting sides: some stations that have been made "favorites" on the GasBuddy website appear at the top of both lists when sorted by distance, shown within 0.2 miles from your current location when they're nowhere near you. You can travel 5 miles, and those same stations can stay at the top of the distance-sorted list while other, non-favorites adjust by their correct distance. A little irritating, but not a deal-breaker. Since I no longer use the favorites feature on the GasBuddy website, I'll probably just go remove them there.

Overall, it's a good app that does what it's supposed to. It's far better than the competing app made by GasBuddy, both in design and functionality.

Love it. Needs a few more features to make it awesome!

I use it for the closest station sometimes, but sometimes that gets “stuck” where I used it last...

What I really use it for is my favorites: those are the stations I know are usually cheapest and if I'm heading towards one I just click on my favorites.

The other complaint I have is telling how old (how many hours) the information is while on the favorites listing, it shows up on the "pricing" tab but not on the "favorites" tab. I used to be able to see it when I clicked the location but now I can't see it at all (and even that was inconvenient when in the car!). I'd like it to be like the regular listing, you have the room, it's actually empty in the same spot (it’s like it knows it’s missing it!).

I'd give it six stars if they'd let me reorder the favorites (and rename them!). I only have 4 locals since I don't want to have to look through there, but I'd add some others for places farther away that I frequent when out of town, I just don't want to have to look through the list every time seeing farther places.

Long haul

I use this app to plan long range travel. It helps me plan my course and know where I'll be able to find quality fuel stations. That being said it is not totally trustworthy. I use diesel in my car and the app has given me the price at XYZ station. When I arrived the station didn't offer my fuel.
I use to use this in conjunction with Google maps. Now that the stupid clowns at Apple replaced Google Maps with TRASH ill be relying on this app more.
Follow up to previous review above.
The station mentioned before is the only time that this App has lied to me. It tells me what I can expect and the pricing it shows is right or close to it.
My only request is for payment info. Many stations show a price then discount for cash or add fees for some cards.
Aside from that my thumb is up for this app.
