Namco's moved on
As far as I can tell, Namco (as well as many other companies that make games for Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft consoles) they've moved on from this game. I think the reason this happens is, except PC games, other consoles untill really recently didn't HAVE updates or DLC. Many games that are released to real physical stores get sequels and the idea is new to most to add more you can download and even PC expansion packs were usually sold at stores.
As a result, Namco probably called this game done the second it hit the app store. It's been almost 8 months and they haven't even updated to be OS 3.0 tested. Namco probably will NEVER update this since, unlike indie or one man teams making iPhone games, this game is a microscopic amount of their income and would probably cost them more than they think they'd make back (since updates are free) to even bother. If they made enough to even care about the iPhone any more, expect a sequel, rather than an update.
In short, this game isn't terrible. It's actually quite fun! I'm willing to bet, however, that this is the complete game. This will probably all there will be so if you reccomend an update idea don't get angry if no response or update ever comes. To Namco this game is likely filed under COMPLETED. It's fun while it lasts but then... It's over...
Okay, i played again and here it is.. Well, why two star? Because game was great but is extremely short (arcade can be finish in 5 minutes or less). There are 3 stage, two boss. 5 crisis mission that is not even close to be good. Single weapon, which is handgun. I mean it was entertaining for while but $4.99 for such a disappointing game... Not worth it. You know Namco shouldn't sell a crappy game with high price just because of its title...soundtrack was but game itself was not TC3... Thats right. It is NOT TIME CRISIS 3. If you are interested, wait for sale because there is no way that namco would give a update for this game to make it better. Although even if its on sale, Konami would give a $0.99 sale, like metal gear solid, i got it for $0.99, and silent scope which is a REAL ARCADE, so it makes this game over priced bad game. Oh i forgot. It has bad graphic and bad battery useage. Don't get this
NOT a "must-have" but a SKIP!
Just got this on sale for $.99 and I'm 100% glad I didn't pay full price because I would've felt even more ripped off. I love the Time Crisis series (they're always the first games I look for in an arcade), but this is barely a shadow of the experience.
There are only three stages and the other game play options are a joke.
It's not all the app developers' fault. They can't help it that playing this game reminds me of every frustrating, broken TC arcade gun. But, for the graphics, music, number of levels and animations and everything, I feel this game should not cost even $.99! However, if they were to up the quality of the graphics to retina, up the quality of the music, etc., I'd reconsider my review.
If this game were a free teaser for the sequel (which I also bought today on sale, but haven't tried yet), it would make me not want to buy it! (Too late, for me.)
Here's hoping for a better experience in the sequel!
