What's New in Version 7.3.0
- A brand-spanking new shiny Explore tab! To make it easier to find the conversations that matter to you, we’ve reimagined the “explore” feature to group topics together into categories. For example, within the Finance category, you’ll find specialized Vibes for personal finance and the stock market, along with a few more that we think you’ll be interested in. We’ve also added a curated list of “Vibes we love” from our editorial team, and we hope you'll love them too.
- You'll find, as we have, that every conversation has a sentiment that can often be challenging to extract at a glance. With that in mind, we’ve also added a sentiment bar - a feature that allows you to immediately see the tone of a conversation. Each post will include green, yellow, and red emoticons to alert you which way a conversation is leaning - positive, neutral, or negative.
- Landscape mode! On iPads! We know you've been clamoring for it, and we've brought it back to the app. We're on your side! (That was a rotation pun, but really, we promise to keep listening and keep helping.)
- Now you can use our share sheet extension to start a post into the Yahoo Newsroom. Just start the share process from any other app (even your web browser) and then add the Yahoo icon to your share sheet. That'll make it easy to express yourself in the Vibes you love.
- Turns out that gremlin from last time was one really bad dude. We took him in and treated him like one of our own, and in the end he just broke our hearts. We're not gonna go into it in detail on the whole thing - it's still too raw - but suffice it to say that we feel really bad about blaming Jeff. Sorry Jeff!

Terrible App
You can no longer read the comments on the stories themselves. Instead you had to do it through Yahoo!'s stupid app. And when you click to open it in the app, it doesn't even take you to the article you were reading. It takes you back to the top of the page and you have to search through all the articles to find the story you were reading. Most times I can't even find the story and give up. Get rid of the app and let us read the stories and comments through our browsers.
Alerts used to be important
Used to consider Yahoo a non biased (sorta) source of news, but that the truth was recently brought to light by their obvious viewpoint.
Come on guys (crap, that's not socially acceptable because it's gender specific), just because your writer's side didn't 'win', doesn't mean it's OK to flood the alerts with social media "It's not fair" unimportance.
My only news source used to be the alerts I received from yahoo. Ones that informed me of ACTUAL IMPORTANT newsworthy events. Now, I realize that I can't even trust Yahoo to report actual news.
Not smart letting your social media writers have free reign. That is, unless you seriously wanted to take a side. If that's the case, don't call yourselves a news outlet, be honest to yourselves and call it "Unimportant News - what's trending on social media".
Grow up - don't become the one sided
Much Improved
Yahoo!'s news section has has become much better over past month. They have many news stories that no other site does. Also they are often first up with a news story.
