Description
Tumblr is a place to discover and post about stuff you love, and join communities of people who love that same stuff. It’s pretty neat.
Q: What can I post on Tumblr?
A: Photos, videos, live videos, songs, text—pretty much anything.
Q: Can I make gifs?
A: Yes, you CAN make gifs! You can make them out of videos, bursts, live photos, or just shoot them on the spot.
Q: What’s the deal with “reblogging”?
A: It’s a way to take the stuff you find on Tumblr and make it your own. You can repost other people’s posts to your own blog. You can add commentary if you like. Other people can do the same with your posts. That’s how ideas spread on Tumblr, and it’s how communities form around them.
Q: Who’s on Tumblr?
A: People who are posting and reblogging about interesting stuff that you’re interested in. Politics. Movies. Memes and such. If you’ve ever seen anything interesting on the internet, chances are it came from Tumblr.
Q: How do I talk to people on Tumblr?
A: A few different ways. You can comment on a post, or you can reblog a post to your own Tumblr and add commentary, or you can send a private message. Whatever suits the occasion.
Q: How do I find stuff to follow?
A: Search for whatever you’re interested in. We’ll show you great posts about that stuff, and get you following the people who make those posts. Oh, you can also follow a search itself, and we’ll put sift the best material from that search right into your dashboard.
Q: What kind of stuff are people talking about on Tumblr *right now*?
A: Whatever’s happening in the world. The real world, the world of fiction, the world of pop culture, the world of academics, the world of safety and justice, the world of sports. Whatever world you live in, you’ll find it among all the trending topics in the search tab.
Q: Do all Tumblrs look the same?
A: No! You can totally customize your Tumblr’s appearance, right down to the colors and fonts you use.
Q: How will people find my Tumblr?
A: Tag your posts. Tumblr is full of passionate communities of people who are constantly searching through tags for new posts about stuff they love. Your stuff could be that stuff.
Q: Am I ready to download Tumblr, deepen my perspective, and forever change the way I think?
A: Yes.

Y'all spend way too much time & money trying to be cute
I've been a tumblr user for a little over 6 years. All the way back to the days of David Karp. While the site, itself had always had its quirks, issues, and workarounds, it never really bothered me so much as to write a passive-aggressive review about it. The tumblr app is awful. You guys spend so much time and money coming up with these useless cockamamie add-ons that literally no one asked for and apparently, no one wants. Namely the "new posts!" Feature. I could not give a single ounce of my being to care about new posts because I'm stop going through the old ones. I'm not an idiot and I sure as hell don't want to be rocketed back to the top of existence because you decided to notify my of something I REBLOGGED. Maybe, instead of probably spending hours upon hours developing your cutsie "bugs were found, bugs were smashed, the sun rose, a baby was born" you could, idunno, use the seemingly endless stream of money y'all get from Yahoo to fix the issues we have been complaining about for months and even YEARS. It's pathetic how much you guys seem to rely on the xkit guy (who, mind you, isn't paid to do what he does, the angel) to fix all the issues you would rather sweep under the rug.
1. Let me post photo replies on text posts from mobile
2. Get the "new posts" thing tf outta here
3. Maybe start enforcing the terms and conditions of the freaking website so we can get the awful, abusive people out of there
Goooooood app
This app is good but I didn't mean to annoy dyaniiis on Instagram so I made a sorry post on Tumblr about the request of art I asked of him to do. I was tow people on different sides holdin' a flag. And I added details but it was too much and then I annoyed him. I said sorry. And he said "please stop posting unnecessary apologies" does that mean he forgives me?! And i think he left Tumblr and he also left Instagram and Idk what app he is on but I don't know what to do?! I need to do something so then I forget it and it's in the past. And it just needs a little more work because the people there are destroying it and making it an inappropriate app. And there not making good in the world they are making Bad. But I'll ask for help because it's a nice app. And I wish people answered back to you on comments. I wish tumblr didn't take any storage at all. It's just free and uses no storage or data. I wish we can use it without wifi too.
Many problems with the app that never seem to get fixed
I've had a problem in the past where when I quick reblogged a post the name of the blog I posted it to would stay stuck on the page and I would have to look through it to see the posts. It disappeared after an update and now it's back after another one.
It is still incredibly difficult(seemingly impossible) to add pictures to text posts and I don't know if you even can do that on the app.
Sometimes when you search through a specific tag, there will be absolutely no posts relating to that tag and everything showing up in it will not be tagged with what you searched for. It's ridiculous.
The way they changed the safe search option is also more inconvenient than before. I want to be able to quickly decide how the search is filtered in the corner of the screen, not in my main settings. Some tags I want to filter and others I don't, it's really that simple why does it have to be all or nothing?
When you follow a tag you often see the same posts from that tag showing up multiple times on your dashboard until you cannot stand to see it again and have to say it's a bad post so it will go away. Even after saying it is a bad posts it continues to show up. Just give us the option of saying, "I've seen this too many times already." and stop making it show up.
Honestly I'm usually pretty flexible but some of these things the users have been complaining about for ages and nothing has been done. The lack of care shows.
