Love it BUT....
This game is great. Quickly became my prefered word game, even over Wurdle which was the first game I ever boought and is the only game that resides in my permanent home screen. The sounds are funny and the game play is frantic. Now, here is what they need to change... 1. There needs to be a time selection option... 0:45 is way to short to allow hardcore word pro's like myself enough time to complete all the words we see. 2. the dice need to roll better... I mean sometimes the dice are upside-down or are partially obscured by the menus at the tp of the screen. I wish that in the intial amout of time that they give you before you start it stayed the same as it is now, BUT when the game actually starts that the dice line up more neatly on the screen or atleast orient themselves based on the position of the phone. One time I kept trying to use a "C" as the letter "U" because the dice was in a funny position. 3. The dictionary needs to be updated. Some simple words are missing... even the iphones favorite app genre is missing... "fart" If ng:moco fixes thoe things this app would become the death of me... I would never get anyting else done because I would be playing it all day. Great game, needs a couple fixes and it would rule the world!!!!
I rarely write reviews for iPhone applications. In fact, this is my first one. What compels me to do so is how much fun this game has made my little in between moments. It's simply to play, addictive, somehow educational (ok maybe not, but...) and endlessly variable so it never gets boring. It's also easy on the eyes. I can think of a few ideas for improvements. First, perhaps it would be fun to make more things customizable - house rules, as it were. The ability to do common proper nouns, for instance. Second, more "belts" or things to shoot for beyond high score. The Egyptian poker dice game is good at that - check it out for details. Finally, it might be nice to find a way to make it more difficult - a faster timer, obstacles, distractions - and greater point values or prizes for dealing with the greater difficulty. Anyway - great game! Thanks!
... there are a few things about this game that aggravate me. The scores that appear on the screen at the start of every game obscure your letter choices for a second - and every second counts when choosing the letters. Also, the letters can 'hide' under the game elements (score/word being built/timer, etc). Lastly, I would love options on the background/colors/etc. For some reason the default interface is very distracting to me. I truly like the game, or the concept of the game, and it's the kind of thing I would play for hours if I didn't feel so frustrated after five-ten minutes (not frustrated with actually playing - ie creating words - just the interface). So possibly I should be rooting for the status quo, to avoid falling into my iPhone and not being able to get up again.
