Favorite crossword puzzle!
I love the NYT crossword puzzle, and the app is even better than the paper version --> when I get it all correct, it rewards me with a happy tune! You can use a pencil if you like, it will check letters, words, or the whole puzzle, it keeps track of my statistics over time, and has a link to a blog. There's puzzle packs you can buy as well. Okay, sure, I do have to subscribe to get to work this puzzle, but that's the cost of living out in the country where it's tough to get a good daily paper. I just got a new iPad for Christmas and this puzzle app was the first app I installed!
Love this app! (But I have a suggestion)
I love this app! I do the puzzle nearly every day, and this app has a user-friendly interface that makes it even more fun. Just one suggestion: sometimes, I can’t work the puzzle on the issue date. When I solve it a few days later, I get a blue star, even if I solved it perfectly. I understand not getting a gold star if I didn’t complete it on the official day—but how about a third level of star (silver?) for getting it right on a different day? It would be nice to have a visual that indicates my solving record more accurately.
NYT Crossword review
I am still locked out of my iPhone puzzles because I can’t get the stupid ‘rate me’ request off my screen. That’s both Sunday and Monday. Do I get any money back for the days I can’t get at my puzzles because of your system?
Love-addiction to the puzzles. I am VISUALLY CHALLENGED. 5 stars rating on a normal day, and if I could read the teeny print. But you don’t give any help to an overly educated puzzler.
I use a magnifying glass to read clues. Also today I Can’t get at my Sunday puzzle until I fill out star ratings. Maybe I can’t get puzzle today because I’m visually challenged, and some things can get bigger, like the plea for a review, and I could have opted out the demand for a review if the whole review request box were available for me to read.
