What's New in Version 2.4.5
• Improved: The keyboards for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have been enlarged to match the size of the standard iOS keyboards.
• Fixed two bugs for iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s users: One that caused the puzzle to jump when typing letters and one that wouldn't let the puzzle be zoomed out.
Once one of my favorite apps, developers got greedy
This was once one of my most used--and loved--apps. I used it every day. The day the developers decided to increase the annual subscription by well over 100%, they lost a loyal customer in me. I'm hardly an expert in economics, but I'm quite certain (note the sarcasm, please) that even in the worst economic periods inflation rates are much, much lower. I really hoped that the developers would see the light on this issue; sadly, they haven't. In fact, I've never seen any rationale for the exorbitant increase. The lack of an explanation indicates to me that the developers really don't care about their client's concerns. Sad. Also, just wanted to add to the developers--keep giving minor updates, and I promise to resubmit my review every time. It drives me nuts when app developers issue updates as a way to get rid of bad reviews.
Argumentative Customer Service Rep
I’m not crazy about this version. Past updates were better. Once they started tinkering with the design again, it started to have problems again so I gave them feedback, as I did when they completely trashed the app after taking control of it. All I got back was a litany of argumentative emails about how they weren’t going to fix it and I should just get used to it rather than simply taking my comments under advisement. They could have done that with an automated email! It’s all I wanted and basic customer relations management. Instead, this one person was rather insulting and it makes me think that none of this is worth it if I’m to be berated when I’m not 100% pleased with their product.
Needs a little improvement
I used the previous version as well as this one. This one works fine. What I don't like is that I can't see what crossword puzzles I have downloaded but not started, possible in the previous version. I have asked for this twice now through Feedback, and the first time I was told sorry, I don't have a subscription, and the second time they said they would think about it. Sometimes the new support was very good, responding quickly and fixing real bugs, but adding functionality that was taken away apparently isn't high on their list.
