Very well executed game

I purchased the Gamecube solely to play RE 4, and played RE 4 until the Gamecube finally gave up the ghost. This version of the game obviously doesn't have the depth of the console version, but it's as much fun as you're going to get in a handheld version. I give the developers high marks for downsizing the game so that it works on the iPhone. What's great about RE D: decent graphics and frame rate, reasonable controls, good zombie models, very familiar environment for anyone who's played RE 4 or 5, autosaves every ten minutes or so which allow you to pick up the game at any point. Having played Terminator Salvation on iPhone, I believe the similar control set is better executed and more responsive on RE D. Plus, you're killing freakin' zombies -- I spent the first 20 years of my life dreaming of the day when I could convincingly kill zombies. What's not so great about RE D: I can't really think of anything. The only negatives someone will be able to come up with are complaints that it's not up to Playstation 3 or Xbox standards. Well, guess what -- you can't slip PS3 or Xbox into your pocket or use it to call your friends. There are always tradeoffs, but I believe the developers did a great job in delivering a solid game for the iPhone.

Very impressed

I was pretty skeptical when I saw this game being shown off, because I was expecting this to be one of those "too good to be true" games. Alas, I downloaded it anyway. At $6.99, this game can be described as a bargain. You get RE4 gameplay with some good (albeit watered-down) animations and a decent storyline.

I haven't watched the movie that this is based off of, but I'm a huge RE fan and I am a hardcore gamer, so I know when I play a good product. Being on a cellphone, I'm very impressed with not only how good this game looks, but also how well it plays.

The only major issues I have towards it are these two: One, the gun sometimes fires even after you let go of the Fire button, and doesn't stop until you tap it again. And two, the framerate can chug sometimes when a lot is going on (for example, when there is fire burning and you try to shoot a group of zombies...however the framerate stays solid for the most part).

Overall, it's a great game, ESPECIALLY on a cellphone. A year after the purchase, I'm still shocked at what my iPhone can do. For $6.99, you get a game that has good length (typical Resident Evil length of about 10 hours first time through), PSP-calibur graphics, and controls simple enough to grip in minutes. Highly recommended.

I have noticed a recent (well past couple of months) trend in games in the app store- Zombies, that is. Where the mindless corpses traverse, human audiences and commercial succes are sure to follow. (I.e. IDracula, Zombieville Usa, Dr. Agula and the box of doom...). I can safely acredit this to one simple reason, zombies are fun to shoot. Period.
This particular zombie blasting outing is sheltered under the wing of the Resident Evil franchise, which is altogether an awesome set of games. Naturally, I was curious, and downloaded the game.
Upon booting it up, I found the familiar RE control system (which fits perfectly), good graphics, some above average boss fights, and an excellent story. Along with all of theese traits, I found the most important thing yet, the action is quite literally a blast to play. My only complaints were the lack of blood and the too short (but sweet) campaign. Extra fun is provided in the mercanary mode too. Overall, a great game that is sure to provide it's fair share of spooks.
