Lame ?s

I don't have crashing problems, but the actual trivia questions was a major disappointment. For one, each one is multiple choice, which is to be expected, but the game suffers all the traditional problems associated with MC questions. For ex., if one of the three options is "Both" or "Neither," that is the right answer about 98% of the time. And the categories seem to be only suggestions as to the subject of the question, yellow being the biggest offender. I've gotten questions about Star Trek and John Henry under the history category that clearly belong under pink and purple, respectively. Not to mention some of the questions are out and out bad. One of them shows pics of three animals, a gila monster, a poison dart frog, and presumably a scarlet kingsnake, and asks which is not poisonous. The "correct" answer is the snake, but in reality, only the frog is poisonous. A gila monster is technically venomous, requiring mechanical means (teeth) to introduce its toxin directly into tissue.

Having written that, it did only cost a dollar, and that has worked out to a cost of about a dime per hour of playing time for me. And it keeps interesting stats. Therefore, two stars instead of one.

In-app Purchase Problem

I like this game. But there is a problem with one of the add-ins. It costs $1, but I'm not requesting a refund. I would rather see the problem fixed.

This game has five (5) bonus packs available, with extra trivia questions.

I've purchased 2 of them.

One was successful and functions perfectly (Encyclopedia Pack).

The other (General Knowledge Pack) will not download -- no matter what you do -- or how many attempts you make.

It takes your money just fine. The in-app purchase goes through, even telling you it's free to download again.

BUT it absolutely will not download into the game. It says "downloading," but isn't. It goes right back to the "new" screen, as if you never bought it.

I've tried everything.

...deleting and reinstalling the game.

...using the "restore" function built into the settings.

...repurchasing it.

Curiously, it's obvious that this one in-app purchase (one out of the five) is missing the picture. I suspect this may be part, if not most, of the problem.

Questions are really trivial

I haven't had the functionality problems running this on the iPad 2, but I am finding the questions to be so esoteric to particular activities and genres, that the game is not as much fun as the board game. For instance, the last time I played, I had to guess at the answers to three seperate questions relating to different graffiti terms. Also, if you are a fan of Asian fiction, particularly Manga and Anime, you should play this game, four different questions about some quest or adventure or something I had never heard of. The Entertainment questions are also particularly narrow & related primarily to shows featured on the WB & the Disney Channel. What about classic & current films? I have loved the board games for years, but I have no idea where they are coming up with these questions. More from the board games, please!
