Beautifully shot video. Excellent education of drinks
This is one of the best cocktail apps I've used. The video instructions are gorgeously shot and wonderfully narrated by an English woman. She also gives little history lessons behind the drinks as they are being made. Since each drink requires a video to be shot, this app doesn't have as many drinks as text based apps. Hopefully more videos will be added in future releases. Also, I wish you could cache videos to your iPhone through iTunes. As it is now, I think the app needs an active wireless network to download the videos each time you watch them. So in review, there's a limited number of drink recipes, but each one is beautifully shot and narrated. A great 1.0 release. I look forward to more exotic drinks added!
Okay, but could be better
-Good video and nice English woman giving the narative.
-Good layout of app/easy navigating through different drinks
-Videos are streamed
-Videos lag depending on connection
-The amount of drink is not talked about during the video, such as, "add the vodka, then ice," not mentioning how much vodka to actually add (making you have to read the prep file kind of making the video pointless.)
-lack of drinks
-Drink amount is not measured in OZ
I was hoping for an app that had videos of more than just, "First add your A, now add B, shake, now you have C!" How much of A needs to be added? Which A or B ingredient is best or most common? These answers are not addressed in the video making you have to read the prep work to make the drink...your better off just getting a free app that has a list of drinks with what to add and how much (in OZ!!)
This is the way to do a mixing guide. Who cares that's it's not filled full of junk drinks, the ones in there were obviously hand selected and presented in a quality way. To those giving this app a low rating for the number of drinks I say get over your typical American thinking... "bigger and more is better, who cares about quality? Give me a Sam's club size bag of tator tots instead of a small amount of good sushi for my money"..right?
