Hearts is a classic card game, full of skill and strategy. Unless you attempt to 'Shoot the Moon', simply avoid collecting the Hearts.
There can be few things in life which are more frustrating than being beaten by luck! To have your card playing ability and experience fall victim to a lucky deal can cause players much irritation. Hearts, however, is a game which regularly brings victory for skilled players over their less skillful opponents through its depth of strategy.
Hearts supports all the usual features you would expect from a ZingMagic game, including reviewing the game, takeback and replay of moves, display of the previous move and hints.

What's New in Version 1.2
Fix to Shoot the Moon scoring when playing with bonus cards so it now scores correctly.
Changed the text displayed when passing cards in ‘Alternate passing’ game play mode to inform players which direction the cards will be passed before they pass the cards.
Play is good, but still needs work.
I'm updating my review based on the latest version. My overall impression is unchanged which is that the game play is good, but there are bugs. The main difference is that there are fewer significant bugs. The two worst bugs (not seeing the pass direction and incorrect scoring when shooting and taking the jack) have been addressed. The other bug I reported, not being able to play the queen when it was a legal play, was intermittent and so can't be verified for certain. However I haven't seen it in this version, so it was probably addressed. The only bug I notice now, (I didn't notice it before) is that sometimes it credits shooting the moon to the wrong player. This doesn't happen often. As I said before, the play is good. The other players are not stupid and this makes the game winnable, but a challenge. Since the only remaining bug happens rarely, this is a very good hearts implementation. Now we can think about some nice-to-haves. Like getting the player name from the "me" contact info. Or just letting us enter our own name for ourselve and even allowing us to name the other players. Or adding stats.
Best of the iPhone Hearts Games
I've tried other Hearts games and all were hampered by inadequate AIs resulting in abyssmal game play. I posted a 5-star rating of this app earlier, but am revising my review and deducting a star. The AI in Hearts Professional is better than the other Hearts apps, but it does a poor job of detecting when a player is shooting the moon, and passes cards that don't defend against shooting. When no one is shooting, game play is intelligent and challenging. Bugs - When you shoot the moon, the game allows you to choose between adding 26 points to others and deducting 26 points from your score. The controls are reversed, it deducts when you click add, and adds when you click deduct. Another weird bug - If west leads a small spade, north plays a small spade and east plays the ace, south (the player) holding queen, king and small spades can't play the queen (it says you're not following suit!). Flaw - When you play a 3-card pass variation you can't tell the direction of the pass before passing. Missing Feature - No statistics. 4-stars for being the best Hearts game on the iPhone.
I like the app. I do not like not knowing who I am passing to. I hope this issue is addressed and updated.
I would like to see an option that would allow NOT passing on the fourth time around such as... Pass left... Pass across... Pass right... Then on the fourth time...whoever has the 2 of clubs, plays with no pass.
I would also like to be able to name the players.
Then, I think the app. Would be perfect.
