Fixed rendering bugs seen on the iPad
This is EASILY the best dual-stick shooter I've yet played. It has an extra RPG feel to it, as you can gain XP and level up, as well as gain money to buy power-ups.
The controls are very well executed. By default, each stick repositions itself to wherever you put your finger, and stays there until you lift your finger. You can keep your fingers anywhere you want, even the center of the screen, if you like to block your view that way. You can also change it so the stick moves with your finger if you move outside the initial edge.
Surprisingly, it also has a campaign mode. In this campaign, you play a series of levels. In each level, there's a series of rooms. When you reach each room, you fight a few waves of enemies, then move to the next. Some levels have bosses at the end.
The graphics are also very well done. It has a very consistant graphic theme, and runs very smoothly. I'm even using an old piece-o-crap iPhone 1, and I still have no problems with framerate.
My only real complaint is that you have to level up each ship individually. You begin with one basic ship that has fairly low stat caps. You can buy ships with higher stat caps as you go, but each (as far as I've seen) begins with minimum stats.
In summary: For only two clams, TOTALLY WORTH IT! Great dual-stick shooter, it'll keep my occupied for hours to come.
Awesome, but a shame...
I was flipping through my games today and decided to give this one another go after sooo long. It could sure use a little TLC after all this time. Flawless little shooter with incredible polish and depth. It feels a little incomplete though, and for a little while it seemed like content updates were coming.. but this game was one of the first I ever downloaded, once-upon-a-time. I still think it's a great game, and 100% deserving of the 5 stars I still give it. I'd just like to see it get the attention it deserves. Obviously a talented game designer/writer/creator/programmer here. Should be a cakewalk to update this gem to fit some of the new screens. And while you're at it (while I'm wishing on a star), make us an IAP add-on. :)
I am triple totally amazed at the epicocity of this app! Pure awsomeness. Extremely fun gameplay. Awesome ships, modules, abilities, satellites, enemies, bosses, levels, and names. Already *************************stars, but with a level editor, more equipment and ships it would be ***************************************************stars. I haven't seen content updates yet, though. Oh, by the way, it says I already beat "Carbamaldehyde".
What do all these wierd words mean? Trinitrotoluene? Pentaerithritol? Thiophosgene? Decaborane? I would really like to know.
