So what is MEVO?
MEVO lives in a world that has been conquered by silence. Your job is to help MEVO bring back the music.
MEVO is a super-addictive rhythm game that plays like a Mario-style platformer. As Mevo grooves through 5 different worlds, you help him keep his beat by tapping along to the music.
Win Silver, Gold and Diamond Gruv awards for successfully completing each level.
“playing so much mevo with coworkers that we’ve singing beep-bop-beep-boop instead of saying hello in morning. rrrrrrrrrrrrooooo”

Awesome Music Platformer! Wife enjoyed it a lot! But the game is too short!
The game is about a band that has most of its members captured by a character who doesn't like their music. You play Mevo - a single eyed dancing character who will travel through stages in order to free his friends. The goal is to press either the left or right on-screen arrows as your Mevo avatar passes by the notes. It's very similar in concept to Tap Tap Revenge/Guitar Hero/Dance Dance Revolution/Rock Band, with the difference that each song is played on a 2D side-scrolling level. Pros: - Successfully integrated 2D horizontal platforming and the music tapping genre - Highly infectious electonic, upbeat and funky tunes - Addictive, challenging gameplay - power-ups keeps your groove going - 3 difficulty levels helps extend replayability - customizable avatars - right price for the current amount of content Cons: - 5 stages only, game could be over in 2hours - music isn't as polished as with other games in the music genre - minimal delay when you hit a note and when it registers the tune, you have to clear your iphone's memory to avoid slowdowns - Level design could be better
This is the best, except...
...I've owned it since it first came out, and it SERIOUSLY needs to be updated! Why are the developers allowing a top-shelf game like this to languish in obscurity? Mevo has the potential to become one of the all-time classics of it's genre, but it"s like they don't care about it anymore. I play this almost every day and still love it as much as ever. Come on people! Please get Mevo back in the groove!
Here it is, another year gone since I wrote the above comments (now July of 2011) and still no new levels. I still play this a lot and am about ready to get down on my knees and beg for more! As I said, this is a GREAT GAME and deserves an update. It is worth the .99 and if you are considering downloading I say do it. I just hope the devs read these comments and know there are good people out here who love Mevo and really do want more. Please consider saving this game from obscurity!!!!!!!!
I have seen this game on the app store for awhile but never decided to actually buy it. Then I found it was on sale for free and decided to give it a shot. Nothing to lose really.
I was suprised by how much fun the game is. It's not quite the same level as Guitar Hero but the musics pretty good and there's a decent amount of replay. The graphics are stylish and the animations are smooth. The gameplay can take a little getting use to. The platforming element doesn't come into play you just need to tap the right arrow when Mevo gets to it. It's probably just years of Mario games but once you learn to ignore any kind of timing for jumping to platforms it gets easier.
If you've been on the fence about this game like I was I'd say go for it now while it's free. Had I known it was as much fun I probably would have paid but getting it free is nice.
