What's New in Version 2.3
Fixes a problem where the app would crash on iOS 6. Further iOS 6 / iPhone 5 optimization will come in another version.
Learned a lot
I don't know about other malt apps, but I've been using this since my first iPhone a few years ago. I've been very happy with the app, have learned a lot, discovered some great dram, and tracked bottles and tastings.
Unusable without a subscription
I bought this app so I could track my whiskey tasting an exploration. However, you cannot even do that without a subscription. I fail to get the point if this application.
If you want a subscription to be your revenue, it makes little sense to charge as much as 4.99 for the application. Conceptually, I have no issue with the subscription service which bills itself as required for *sharing* tasting notes. Not writing them at all.
Numerous Technical Issues
This app has some major technical problems that basically render it unusable. It hangs indefinitely when syncing, and the search feature in key areas (i.e. the window for searching for a bottle to add to one's collection) doesn't function at all, let alone properly. Highly disappointed in an app that had a lot of potential to be great!
