Fails on all major features of a scoring app

1. Reading the draw makes it impossible to find out which players are on which half or quarter of the draw in early rounds so it makes predicting who will play who nearly impossible. 2. Results page doesn’t show seed numbers so can’t see who was supposed to be the predicted winner based on seed numbers. 3. Live scores page is horrific for showing terrible thumbnails of players and only showing 2 matches on one screen and requiring tons of scrolling. It should look like the results page and not waste so much space on pictures. 4. And yes the scoreboard is as confusing as @#$%. Terrible organization of some sets on the left some on the right, game score somewhere in the middle and total sets somewhere in between. Ridiculous.

This app fails miserably on all basic fronts of a scoring app. At least the notifications worked great and it didn’t crash is a plus, other than that you guys seriously need to have a look at the ATP app and take some serious pointers.

Better but still sexist.

I liked the notification features in this year's app, which worked well for me aside from getting double notifications when two of my favorite players were playing each other.

Aside from that my main gripe is that going to sections like Draws always takes you to men's singles. I'd like to be able to set a preference so that I go straight to ladies. Seems like "favorite events" ought to make that possible.

Also I'm not sure what the point of the My Wimbledon screen is. I'd expect to see info about my favorites there.

Scoreboard Fail

The most basic part of a slam app is the scoreboard. The scoreboard design of the Wimbledon iPhone app reaches new levels of stupidity. The results scoreboard puts the score of the last set on the far right, with the scores of previous sets on the far left. In between are the players' names and the total sets won, which is completely unnecessary and adds to the confusion.

So to see the scoreline, we first need to look to the middle for names, then to the far left for scores of all sets except the last, and finally to the far right for the score of the last set. Is this a joke?

Finally, although there is enough space, neither the players' first names or country are given.

Are we to spend a fortnight trying to check scores from this?

The designers should take a look at the highly regarded WTA/ATP Live Scores app for a well-designed, informative scoreboard. It's not rocket science.

I haven't even looked at the rest of the Wimbledon iPhone app. The most used part of the app--by far--is the scoreboard, and if that's poor then nothing else matters.
