This game is similar to "Tennis for Two," the first video game ever played, before the era of electronic ping-pong game. With the same good ol'oscilloscopic feel, this iPhone game is meant for a single person to play.
-Left side is the player, and right side is the computer. Hit the ball that came to the player side by tapping on the right side of the screen. Determine the angle of the ball by dragging up and down on the left side of the screen.
-To see how to play the game, tap the "?" button that appear in left bottom part of screen in standby mode. To go back to game, tap the "x" button.
-To check game record, tap the "i" button that appear in right bottom part of screen in standby mode. Tap Reset button to reset record. To go back to game, tap the "x" button.
Pretty good for the first game ever.
It's pretty cool that I can play the first game ever made. In addition to that, it's actually kind of fun. It has some flaws, though. Actually, It only has one, but it's a pretty big one. For some reason, whenever I don't hit the ball as high as I can, the ball might go past the opponent, yet it still counts as a loss. It's not that big of a deal, because it doesn't happen every time, and I usually do want to hit the ball as high as possible. Still, it's amazing considering it's 53 years old. Plus, it's technically more impressive than Pong, because this game calculates gravity. And Pong came out 14 years later! (Although, Pong is a much better game.) And yes, this was the first game, not Spacewar.
Alright, I figured out why I lost when I did that. I was hitting the ball past the court. (So I was basically hitting it out) Luckily, it works the other way around, too. Because of this, I'll give this game that extra star.
Retro gamers rejoice!
This was an amazing idea for an app. if you consider yourself a retro gamer, as I do, then you owe it to yourself to get this game! Argued as the first video game, why would you not want to say "I've played tennis for two?" This is our history as gamers. Learn it...play it! Whats more is its free!
It's cool and all, but I can't understand how to play:(
