What's New in Version 1.8.6
- iOS7 Support
- Minor Bug Fixes
It's fun to a point.
Honestly I like this game.
But there's no point between too easy and impossible. Warlord and chieftain are too easy there's next to no challenge but once you try king it's almost impossible. I'm talking armies of tanks and bombers and infantry being destroyed completely by a never ending swarm of riflemen that aren't even in an army and are newly made do they aren't even veteran and city's with tanks being taken by singular catapults and the fact that every civ you meet goes to war with you unless you give it all your money or tech they could kill you with easily. Then there's chieftain, you easily take city's full of legions out with armies of veteran warriors with navel support. Theres either no resistance or an impossible resistance.
I like a challenge but I don't like to be at war with all the other civs because my 5000+ gold and my tech (which is almost always superior) isn't good enough to pay them off. So I'm fighting an endless war every game that I can't win because rifle are better then tanks when the other civs use them but when I use riflemen I get crushed.
Thanks for reading my rant of warning.
Bugs, AI, and more!
AI is broken. Not even relating to their ruler. Everytime I play, Gandhi wants to kill me. I'm an expansionist for making one city oh boy. Hard to launch my nuke with Manhattan project due to short scrolling and such. Nobody knows each other even though sometimes their cities are 5 tiles apart. Resources aren't even worth tryin to get cause they do so little. Domination is probably the quickest thing to do, and the easiest. King is way to easy, even with the broken combat system. Cause Legion Armies lose to Barbs. Maps have little to no customization, even with the scenario generator. It's either Archipelago or Pangaea map. Major civs always appear in the randomization, Greeks, England, and India, then either Tokugawa/Spain/Arabs. Game will keep you entertained until its way to easy, or you rage quit due to broken combat.
Buggy but fun
There's a lot of bugs. After researching the Manhattan Project, I tried to nuke somebody, and my nuke just disappeared. Trying to move units it's sorta difficult because it's really precise. I sometimes move units while trying to move the camera. Chieftain as expected is really easy. I had bombers while everybody else was using archers. The difficulty doesn't gradually increase. At king, there's a massive spike in difficulty. But if you can get around these things, it's still a fun game to play when you're bored or on a long car ride. It passes time. Not quite up to par with the Xbox version or Civ5 but then again, it is mobile.
