Customer Reviews

Outstanding accuracy and interface

This review is about accuracy and usefulness in marathon training.
I bought Runmeter because a really fast, race-winning runner I know uses it. I’m kind of fixated on logging my jogging distances correctly, and whenever I compare Runmeter against the Google Maps tool, they are within 0.5% of each other. That includes runs largely done on a track. (Yes I triple checked those parts with a web track distance calculator). Done with retentive distance logging, on to training. Mile paces (with stop detection on) seem to be optimistic when in any given mile the stop is long. However the overall pace (total run distance divided by total Timex stopwatch time - did I mention retentive? - is accurate. This app really shines on the iPhone 6 (vs. iPhone 5) because it can now log step cadence; usefully, it logs each mile’s cadence separately. The elevation charts are also improved on the newer phone.
All the summary graphs, reports and maps are neat and uncluttered.
I wish Runmeter could import data from my FitBit HR, so the history would be complete with heart rate data as well. It does connect with several HR straps I don’t own.
One of the applications I use most frequently and am happy with.

Life Changing

I use too many features of RM to list. Indeed, I might find it depressing to run w/o RM. I had two GPS watches and tried three other apps before going with RM. From my perspective, it blows away the competition. Customer service? I forget why I wrote RM a year ago, but I remember they got back in a sprint. Accuracy? I just ran the Philly 26.2. RM recorded 26.6. That's about as good as it gets, although shorter distance accuracy is more variable. User note: Auto-stop is a great feature when you're stuck at a traffic light, but remember to turn it off for races. Otherwise, it stops recording time if you pause at water or pit stops.

Best running GPS app available

I’ve used this app religiously on my runs for over a year. It is the best running app out there. It gets the important stuff right - good GPS support, accurate logging and reporting. But it also has myriad useful features — like e-mailing my wife when I’m finished running (to let her know I’m OK), pairing with my heart rate monitor, and giving me audio cues to stay within workout parameters (for example when I want to keep my speed up on a tempo run).

Highly recommend you download Runmeter and try it out!
