Worth every dollar I paid

Update: downgraded from 5 stars to 3 stars after I got my Watch 2 because the Watch app does not work standalone, it requires that I carry the phone while running, so I really cannot use this app any longer.

Original review: This was well worth the $20 I paid for it--but for the fact I paid much less. Useful application with excellent value that really helps me track how much and how far I am running and walking. The application contains a lot of functionality, including tracking different types of workouts, graphing workout stats, history, and other. I haven’t tested heart rate tracking. The down side to all this functionality is interface. A couple screens on Runmeter are a little confusing but otherwise once you get it set up it isn’t too hard for daily use. I am really glad to see the vendor continuing to support this application and to keep it up to date.

For Watch 2, not good; for just iPhone great

I had been using this app for several years with my phone and it is great and I would recommend it for people who do not plan on getting an Apple Watch 2. My only real complaint for the iPhone version is that some simple features like posting to the health/activity apps by Apple require a paid Runmeter subscription when the same thing is available in other apps for free. Also to my knowledge it won't automatically post past runs to the health app if you ran when you didn't have a subscription. I would like it (and pay for it) if my past runs could be synced to health.

For people WITH an Apple Watch 2, I would NOT recommend this app. The app doesn't support GPS, even with a paid Runmeter subscription. If you have an Apple Watch two, this app still requires tethering.

How to fix erratic GPS readings

Last week I did a 13km run but Runmeter recorded a 22km run. After consulting with Support, I turned off WIFI on my device (iPhone 5s). After two runs, Runmeter showed reasonable GPS readings.
