::: Details :::
Customization is a core aspect of Above & Beyond Air Combat, each aircraft has not only unique stats, but a unique set of equipment sockets. Each socket is then filled by a weapon, thruster, or upgrade which are acquired with credits earned during all 3 battle modes. Weapons include: machine guns, lasers, flak cannons, missiles, ray guns, bombs , and more.
The world contains over 60 islands which are divided into several diverse regions - ranging from tropical to volcanic, to glacier ice, to desert. Each island is unique and can be traveled to seamlessly (without load times), so if you're a fan of exploration, you will definitely enjoy Above & Beyond.
Along with the primary Conquest mode, Above & Beyond Air Combat also features two arcade modes: Gauntlet and Survival. Gauntlet is a time trial race in which obstacles, targets, and bonus rings are placed throughout the track. A Gauntlet track will often feature tight canyons, sharp turns, and fast straightaways. In Survival, you will be pitted against a never-ending onslaught of enemy targets. Using your own customized aircraft, you must survive as many waves as possible for the highest score.

I want my money back
It really depends what your looking for, whether you'll like this game or not. I personally hate it. I was looking for a good dogfighting game, one where you could do complex flight maneuvers but, this is not that game. The controls are sluggish and setting up the sensitivity levels or changing ships do not help.
I was thrilled to find that the airplanes could (in theory) do things like rolls, but that is ONLY in theory, if you have the roll capability on then you can't turn. Basically this game boils down to how big a gun and how thick a shield you have, forget how you fly. Just as long as you sort of point your nose in the general direction of whatever is shooting at you and shoot back, your good. I was hoping this would be like a cheaper version of Galaxy on fire, now I wish I had just forked over a little more money and gotten a game with real dogfighting. Most reviewers say this game is addictive, REALLY?! That surprises me, this game bores me to tears.
So if you like arcade style bang em up shoot em up games then this game is for you. Looking for a good flying/dogfight game? Then look somewhere else.
=D, but needs
•Multiplayer player. As in dogfights, team conquest, and vs. conquest with multiple people and choice of starter island to respawn.
•Custom dogfights, meaning you can fight a plane you build from the same option you have to build a ship.
•Survival levels (easy: health regenerates, normal: as is, hard: health doesn't recharge after every wave)
•Ability to restart conquest without restarting anything else.
•Also, it's hard to describe, instead of just customize, there would be "My Planes" where in customize, you could save planes and they would go to your planes so if you like to have different things on the same body, you could save that body with both sets of gear and get to them in "My Planes".
I'll be honest, flight sims ain't my schtick. The only jet game I ever really dug was Starfox, and THIS IS IT!! Sure there's no evil space monkeys, but it's freaking great. I went back and bought Scifly cuz I liked this so much, and that was great too. My only suggestions: multiplayer dogfights ala Scifly, maybe a regular dogfight mode, more enemies to kill after I've conquested the islands, and hey why not a couple huge bosses to fight. Like a giant disembodied monkey head!!
