I've enjoyed other G5 games but...
Gotta say this one is kind of a fail. First off, the background music is ridiculous and distracting. To its benefit, thankfully you can mute it as you play, but it would have been better for them to have chosen music that actually seemed fit for the game (listening to a cheesy, jaunty tune while your character tells another how she saw an orphan pulled into a mirror by a ghostly entity was a silly way to start the game).
I stopped and deleted the game during only the second round because you can barely zoom in on the scenes to find objects! A few things stand out, but the rest is a jumble of shapes and colors because everything is so tiny. I found myself just tapping randomly all over the screen until I hit something I was supposed to find; not a fun way to play a hidden object game. Also, this is the first time I've played this type of game where in the 2 "levels" I played, I was looking at the exact same scene and in both all I was doing was looking for things in it (usually you're walking around, interacting with environments, etc). It just felt lazy and not well thought out.
Again, I've liked G5 games, but I can't recommend this one.
Good example of the genre
This is a fun hidden object game. I've played several, and this is above average. The time limit is generous, hints are plentiful, and the degree of challenge is good. The scenes are pretty, and the story is interesting.
I will mention a few little problems in case the developers are looking for update ideas :) The zoom is limited, the dialogue sometimes leaks illegibly out of the boxes, some of the translucent objects really aren't visible, some of the goblets were vases or otherwise not goblets, and the flute is either a clarinet or an oboe. Many hidden object games have much worse problems, though.
Deja vu all over again?
Feels like I'm playing the same hidden object game more than once, but with slight variations each time. Long dialogue sequences do not seem to matter in the games. Will it ever end? I don't feel a sense of progress in the game. Hard to fail each task with ample time and/or hints. I have skipped at least one mini-game that I had no interest in.
