My funds are being held....
Someone sent me $2,000 via Venmo b/c she uses it all the time & likes the convenience. I downloaded the app and signed up. She transferred the funds & i thought everything was great. I attempted to transfer for the money to my checking account but couldn’t. I paid a friend $300 that worked fine. I then tried to transfer $800 using the standard feature of 1-3 business days. The funds never arrived in my checking account & I was notified my account was frozen. I’ve called & chatted with the support team to no avail. I was emailed a request to send a copy of my drivers license and I did. I asked the sender to look into this with me. She was asked to send in her drivers license and she did. She received an email that her account was cleared. I have not received the requested $800 transfer that’s sitting in limbo & I’m not able to transfer the remaining $900 from my Venmo account and no one is Abe to tell me anything! All I’m getting is the Bailey person (account specialist) was reviewing my account & would email me. It’s 6 days later & still nothing!!! I understand verifying a large amount but really...I’ve called, the sender called & a copy of our drivers license was sent it!!!! What is the issue?! I’ve never tried Venmo b/4 this & once my money is released i never will again!!!! I need help!
Convenient, but so many issues
This app makes it easy to transfer financial assets (e.g. money) quickly from one bank account to another. But this company has so many issues that it has yet to develop past, that to me personally make Cash App or even Apple Pay more useful. One major issue would be the lack of help available when the app fails to work. I recently had to get a new card because my old debit card wasn’t working properly anymore. So after attempting to add the new card back, Venmo quickly said I added to many cards and prevented all future transactions. Meanwhile I’ve only ever added my credit and debit card to this app, so I’m not sure what “too many cards” relates to. But as for help, their inconvenient hours don’t relate to the days you would expect individuals to use the app. What I mean is Saturday and Sunday are excluded from help service, but a typical bank works these hours because when money issues arise, you definitely want the quick service. LEARN VENMO. A second issue comes from this too, and it’s that transactions made won’t be processed over the weekend and that just makes life harder for the people who needed it to go through at an adequate enough time.
This app is terrible I do not recommend it at all
I downloaded the app because my family member referred it to me to send me money out of state and i tried to transfer it to my account and it made my wait 4 days which was fine because it was around the holidays so I expected it to be delayed but the 4 days passed and the money just sat there so I contacted someone through the chat and was informed my account was frozen which is already annoying that I wasn’t informed to begin with and was just waiting as well as the money not even being able to be refunded when I asked then I could not verbally talk to anyone on the phone to address the situation and ask them why my account was frozen I had to keep talking thru the chat which was very inconvenient it took about 4 more days of me sending them my i.d. As well as bank statements just for them to tell me my account was deactivated and I was no longer able to use it and bc I was in violation of who knows what because I constantly asked why ?? And they never answered me ...I gave them all my information which proved my identity this was my first time using it as well as sending them statements showing all my transactions which I’m absolutely sure there was nothing wrong with that either I have had that card for years with no problem so this whole process was a nightmare and still was never able to use this app my advise use a different app DO NOT USE VENMO
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
