What's New in Version 3.0.2
The application does not finish refreshing.
I'm really tired of all these people writing terribly worded reviews about apps that don't work as they claim, and then not explaining why they don't work. I'm a huge fan of the onion, I get all of the podcasts on iTunes, so I know what this app is supposed to be like. Now the problem that everyone is having is that when they try and open this app, the app displays "the onion" and the goes to the front page, where it says its trying to get the stories, so instead of getting the stories, it just refreshes forever. Now if someone would just make a patch to fix this and all of the bad reviews, I'm sure this would be a great app, I can see its very nicely laid out. Just, please patch this app, because I know we're all tired of the dumb angry blondes posting reviews like "gimme refund" and "stupid app, don't buy!" Oh, and my favorite "I don't get it".
Onion awesome! App - not so much.
The Onion is right up there with Colbert when it comes to real, satirical news disguised as dark humor.
Unfortunately, the app leaves a lot to be desired. It will not load the 'recent' news, when launched - I have to go to 'recent,' then swipe the list down to reset. About 50% of the time, it then eliminates all but the first item on the list.
Not once have I been able to post directly to FB, as it kicks up 'cannot be performed right now' error. As of late, it crashes about 30 seconds after the list of stories loads. When the app is re-launched, it's back to square one.
This really, really needs an update to fix the numerous bugs. In the meantime, I'll read in my browser and cut-and-paste links into FB.
What more do you want?
The updates are good the content is great and frankly I don't understand what folks are belly aching over. Seriously it's free access to every onion article ever written with search capacity. It occasionally crashes but no more then other aps. Keep improving it onion ( like you do any ap) and fellow reviewers calm down!
