Improvement over Origins but...
...not enough gameplay in free version to get an idea of whether or not i want the full version.
3 stars for great design, but not 5 because i have no idea if i'd enjoy the actual game.
Details: the controls & graphics are richer than Origins (i like the pseudo depth effects quite a bit; it's like someone remembered how to do depth effects without being a full 3D engine, & it's very efficient & smooth).
the overal feel is more robust than Origins, too. i feel the tilt-to-move controls are a huge improvement over Origins, as well as interacting with environment. one gripe: creature editor requires too precise a drag motion to place parts. frustrating.
... but that's all design. this free demo is lacking in experiences. it does not showcase much gameplay at all. at best, it's a minor tutorial, not a trial. i can't honestly say this is a full 2 levels. i couldn't believe it was so... empty an experience once done.
i'm not convinced to buy the full version since Origins was a general letdown & Creatures Free is too vague a trial.
Sorry EA. Deleted.
Spore is awesome! READ READ
I play spore on my big O'l 5 pound laptop and it would be awesome if the developers can publish a game (now I understand the computer version takes up a lot of memory, but I think eventuallythe longer you work on it, the better it will be).
What if instead of a galaxy (or a mini galaxy), you can play the game in what I call "groups of stars" with a core in the middle. (you guys are the developers, you do whatever you want).
It should have the same concept of the game, but simpler, and easier.
This would be a GREAT idea! :)
This is NOT Spore Creatures!
When I saw this app, I was very excited because the DS version of Spore Creatures is one of my favorite games. What I got was a completely unrelated game. If anything, this could have even been a very sloppy port of the DS version. I would much rather play that than this. I mean, seriously, guys?! Was this an April Fool's joke or something? About the controls, I do like the concept, but a calibration feature would be nice. And also the option to switch between tilt controls and touch controls. As I was saying earlier, this app should be renamed. This app was an interesting play, but you really let me down. Why?!
