At its core is an innovative dice pool system that provides an unparalleled set of narrative hooks as you describe the actions and challenges faced by each player. With the WFRP Toolkit, you'll always carry a full set of WFRP dice in your pocket. Additionally, results can be saved for future reference along with extensive statistical analyses of all your dice rolls to date.

Slick and well thought-out

This does a lot more than the average dice roller app, and looks good doing it. It's worth $3.

In addition to rolls, you can select dice to reroll, pull in additional dice and roll again, check the rules for each die type on the fly, and save rolls for later reference. Best of all, after you roll you get a summary of the results: succeses vs. failures plus special symbols -- a neat timesaver.

My only minor quibble would be having to swipe to switch from the core dice to the special dice (challenge, fortune, misfortune). There's room on the main console for them, and the console disappears anyway when you roll.

My First App

This doesn't feel like a polished, finished app. As others have said, it opens with a slow movie and FFG's marketing blog---which I have bookmarked, but which I don't want to see every time I load the dieroller. iPhone platform developers should know that's not a normal app intro.

The help text is nearly unreadable thanks to bad jpeg artifacts---pngs or webkit views would be more normal.

The interface relies heavily on odd gestures, like holding on empty space or tapping with two fingers. That's strange, surprising to users of other iphone dieroller apps, and generally fails to get out of the user's way.

It could all be fixed: put the summary in the background of the rolling area and update it live. Make the log accessible by dragging the rolling area one way, the dice tray the other. Have both nudge in on a tap. Etc.

In need of update

This dice rolling app hasn't been updated in nearly two years, and it shows.

While functional, some of the basic use is clunky and slow. As an example, rolling an extra Skill die(because of a Righteous Success) requires a press and hold(for one second) on the screen just to get to the dice tray.

The biggest drag, though, is the start up time. It takes just under 10 seconds from launch to get to the start screen, and that is after turning off the opening video. To make it worse, the app doesn't support multitasking; You have to wait 10 seconds when switching back to the app as well. Very inconvenient.

Functional, but disappointing.
