LOvE this aPP!
Yeah, it doesn't have the pronunciation for the words (whaddya expect for "free"?!), but the 15K words offered are great to use and peruse. Anyone with really any 4th-6th grade knowledge of our fine English language should be able to figure out how to sound them out. OR one could always grab ol' Websters and actually look it up (gasp! Heaven forbid!).
OK--said my piece; for the selection and
content of words, I'd give the site a "6-star" rating. Too bad the most I can give is 5 stars!
I really like this app, only a few things wrong with it. One, PRONUNCIATION! Major factor in hacking off a star. Two, I would like to see more previous words. Other than that, it's practically perfect. I like how you can view the whole word list, instead of being limited to one word a day. Give me te pronunciation, and I will rate it five🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟.
Needs expanded definitions
The word lists are great, but many times if you don't research the word through other sources you can actually apply it in the wrong way :( for example "palaceous" is defined as something that is characterized by a spade-shape, but if you look up the expanded definition through other sources you find out this is a term that applies to botany
